Re: [RELEASE] SourceBans++ (v1.5.3) [Updated: 2015-10-07]

MariaDB != MySQL

Just use MySQL or fix the problem yourself or wait for a fix.

Whats with all the commotion?

What would be very nice is if Sourcebans++ kept track of when players are kicked just like bans and mutes/gags/silences. Often times there is no way to keep track of when players are kicked.

Would this be a reasonable thing to request?

Also on connect, is there a way we could have it also print the number of mute/gag/silences a player has had on them before, rather than just telling admins "So and So has X previous bans on him."

Well, if you are so retarded to say something doesn't work just because MariaDB doesn't work perfectly together with it, then I really feel sorry for you.

No offense, but as I read your post, you said SourceBans++ wasn't working? MariaDB is the problem, not SourceBans++:

MariaDB claims to be a drop-in replacement for MySQL. If it really was a drop-in replacement, how would you explain that MariaDB breaks functionality of other things, which works perfectly with MySQL? That's not what I would call a "drop-in" replacement.

Anyway, SourceBans++ is totally open sourced, ... so if you want it MariaDB to work together with SourceBans++, feel free to make it the required adjustments and submit a pull request.

If I misunderstood you, and that you would really like to help constructively rather than running around with that selfish attitude you were showing above, then offer your assistance for the future development.

MariaDB hasn't been marketed as a drop-in replacement in over a year. Prior to that it literally was a drop in replacement. research is your pal

How to add in sourcebans another port for Rcon. For example 27016.

And even from the link that it links to, there is the following headline:

So I definitely agree with you, research is indeed a good place to start.

Anyway, you have the opportunity to provide a patch (pull request) if you got a problem with how open sourced things works.

Or you could take the egoistic way, by leaving it alone instead of actually assisting in getting a fix made.

Change the game server's port in your game server settings.

There are two server machines connected to the router, the port tcp - 27015 is forwarded to the first server. How to make sure that both servers worked Rcon commands from the site on which the Sourcebans. One port on 2 separate servers can't be forwarded.

Rcon is on the game port, just forward TCP for the 2nd servers port as well.

please! make warning system (for light crime ex: swearing,unkilled griefing,etc)

idea : if you warn user name like 'asherallahkin' he gain warn count chat notice all in the server
[WARNING SYSTEM] 'asherallahkin' got 1 warning.
and if count exceed 3 time he will be banned from server configured time and after 'asherallahkin' ban expired and reconnect to server make chat notice
[WARNING SYSTEM] 'asherallahkin' is banned 1 time before.

sourceban site also log this kind of warnings
it will be awesome

To add on to this, like my idea before, if sourcebans could keep track of the number of times players were kicked it would be amazing. Also, when players join servers if it could give admins more info than just a players previous BANS that would also be amazing.

What would be really cool though, is a watchlist/warning system, so that admins know that this player has caused trouble before, even if he wasnt punished.

And we had to deal with the MariaDB problem as well, but someone posted a fix on the Github that has worked for us flawlessly.
