Don't use AMXX Studio. It has not been updated in a while and has serious glitches. I recommend using a common source code editor like Notepad++.

I compile my plugins with a single button in Notepad++ and I've documented how I do it here. Also, I implemented syntax highlighting for most of the AMX Mod X specific keywords here.

I use Pawn Editor... works like a charm for me at least. Notepad++ is better for writing but PE's features makes direct AMXX scripting easier.

Sublime text's of addon_zz is good too. Currently using that one and works with no problems. Now Np++ is more comfortable so I recommend switching to Np++ following OciXCrom or fyskis tutorial.
