AMX Mod X 1.8.1 not working with CS 1.6

I installed amx modx 1.8.1 using the full installer

And then I installed the mod, following a similar procedure as shown in this link. I am installing for Counter-Strike 1.6

But when I start the game, I cannot use any of the amx commands. I have installed and used amx in my previous laptop which worked fine and whenever I type amx in the game console then the list of commands are shown in the drop down and one can see all the info and other stuff displayed in the screen during gameplay. But now, it is not working at all. Any amx command I type will result in the Unknown command... message and none of the fancy info is displayed. Its like the amx was never even loaded or detected (whichever term is appropriate).

P.S. The difference between my previous laptop and this laptop is that, this laptop has Windows 8 while the previous has Windows 7.

1.8.1 is not supported anymore and the full installer got mm 1.19 iirc. Ghus it is not working on the latest CS1.6.
Download the current full installer for 1.8.2

I tried 1.8.2 and it also did not work. This link said that 1.8.2 will not work with CS 1.6. Not believing it, I tried it myself and it did not work. Do I have to perform any update or something? or change some config file somewhere?

You should read the complete text ;-).
For sure 1.8.2 works for the new version. You are doing something completely wromg i guess.

I tried 1.8.2 with CS 1.6 (the game itself, directly downloaded from Steam) not so long ago too, and it didn't work. It looks like you have to create a server using SteamCMD, 1.8.2 only works with such servers. If you don't know how to do it, you should search, there are plenty of tutorials on both AlliedModders and the rest of the internet.

It finally worked. The only thing I did was to select None (instead of Counter-Strike) in the Custom Game Addon during installation. Although I don't know why it worked and how, but its working now.

Did you install the server via SteamCMD? If not, you need to do that. If you can't install the mod-specific version, there is something wrong. For further help, please provide the output of the following server commands:

Code:

version
meta version
meta list

It worked finely for me, you should have did something wrong: (Local game is called listen server and not dedicated server).

Such server are called standalone server (you don't need to start your game), And 1.8.2 works with both of them (HLDS and local game).

just search for "steamcmd"

You should understand what people are trying to tell you instead of dabbling a frankenstein server.
