Problem: Double chat from dead/specs [TF2]
 

Hey, not sure if this was the right place to put this. If not sorry. :( I'm getting double chat from dead and spectators. Literally, whatever they say will come up as Guy: Message then Guy [SPEC]: Message one after the other. This is my plugins list, thought i've swapped like everything out. Can anyone help me out on this?

Separate issue, a customvotes vote for sv_gravity to be changed is always auto cancelled by admin, even though I'm the admin and am not doing anything? :|

try this cvar:

tf_teamtalk 0

i think it's set to 1
If you need this cvar set to 1, find the plugin which sends chat from dead people to alive players and deactivate it

Thanks, trying that and seeing if it changes anything. You see my plugin list though, I've disabled pretty much everything and It still does it. I'm really not sure what to think is the culprit at this point.

Do you run any other server plugins such as EventScripts?

That list is all the plugins I run. If eventscripts are something that wouldn't show up on that menu, maybe I have it and dont know about it, but I basically did a clean install of TF2, got the newest versions of source/meta and just the bare essential plugins for my required functionality (listed above). :( No clue what to do, I've tried loading up the server with all of those plugins disabled, it still happens.

You would have had to of downloaded and installed EventScripts for you to have it, it is not a stock feature or anything, it is another server plugin like Sourcemod.

Are you the only one that sees the double chat? Or do normal players see it as well? (Non-admins.) If you, or other admins, are the only ones that see it, it could be due to a plugin causing you to be able to see all chat.

Based on your plugin list, you do use 'Advanced Admin Commands' which has a cvar that allows you to see all chat as an admin:

• sm_av_enable 0/1 - Enable admin vision (admins can see all chat messages, that normaly should not be shown - team, dead)

Try setting this to 0 in your server.cfg and see if it helps.

Hey, I appreciate your help. Everyone can see the double chat, and team chat is visible to everyone. Admin status doesn't seem to be a factor.

EDIT: Oh, and I just updated everything to bleeding edge thanks to valve breaking everything (I can't begin to articulate how mad that made me), and it appears to still be happening.

Self bump, anyone have any clue? Still doing it with latest SM and MM. I've tried removing all plugins, and I even tried it with a base TF2 install with no mods whatsoever. Still does it.

ES Tools is known to cause trouble along with SourceMod, but if you removed all plugins I don't know.
