Controversial threads

I'm in a phase where I should be studying (exams) so I spent the last hours doing the expected: searching alliedmodders for old threads, mainly those with a good dose of controversy (I'm a real fan of controversial situations and of seeing people dealing with them). So I decided to leave here a compilation of them with the hope that recent forum members that didn't see them, enjoy them for the first time. I recommend seeing them with a browser extension to autoload thread pages. All of them have some funny unexpected moments in the middle.

Security Exploit in UAIO Binary - a respected coder of this community, that I think was high on its "administrative hierarchy", was distributing the binaries of a well succeed plugin he authored with code that allowed him to became admin of any server using it. He got caught (to much surprise of many people) and got permanently banned - it includes a cameo of him with a kind of apology more focused on remembering the cool this dynamic situation was for him. - this is the reason why ".amxx" files upload is currently forbidden.

"CZ Gun Game" source code - a fellow was distributing amxx files without the source so one of the forum administrators reverse engineered the compiled code to expose the source. - the guy joined the thread and some fights ensued.

mysticdeath.com zombie infection plugin
- similar to the previous one. In this case the plugin creator intention was selling the plugin so he inserted code that let him crash a server using it without paying. - the author (apparently) does not participate in the thread. While in the previous case, the notion is that the plugin sucking was the reason for it to be closed, in this, I think the guy was protecting his creative merits (not defending him, just throwing some info).

Shame for AMXX MEMBER ( Hacker try ) - another respected coder of this community, with some administrative powers also, was abusing them to spread malicious software. He got caught and a temporary ban was given to the ips of his country.

About Argentina Banned - not long ago, alliedmodders had daily availability problems because it suffered massive ddos attacks. Many came from Argentina so, the country got permanently banned.

Veeservers suck, don't waste your money - A fellow complained that some hosting company where he had a server, after they "break their contract", used the server ip and its files to take advantage of the popularity it had. The GSP was generally bashed and the owner participation in the thread just made it more clear that he/his gsp really sucked at providing a service.

----------------

Unfortunately for me, most of them were before I was in the community so I didnt experience them live  but still I enjoy them pretty much.

Please, if you know of more not posted here tell me I would want to read them.
Also, I would like to hear stories of this kind that for some reason are not recorded in posts.

Hi joaquimandrade,

This was a really good idea. I really enjoyed reading this since I didn't experience them live either, thanks.
