HOW to Remove lag in HLDS hosted in windows VPS
 

HI ,
I have starting just running server zp 4.3 fix 5a cs 1.6 in windows vps , NOW it started LAG FOR ALL players !!!!

VPS : Dual core , 4 processor , 2gb RAM , os windows server 2008R2 64 bit , Internet speed of 1 gbps / node

I really need help to configure my server config [UPLOADED BELOW] . I have tied all posts in this forum , its really confusing . I also have some questions s good response will be good

1. DO i use task manager , for real time

2. HLDS.exe also have a compatiblity mode , do i use it . IF yes than which OS is better to run , its shows some OS xp sp2 , xp sp3 , vista , windows server 2001 ,etc

3. DO i use max_fps 1000 , sys_ticrate 600

I Have uploaded my server.cfg file CAN SOME ONE edit it which rates Would be best for my server

mostly, just remove rest of setting below sv_minupdaterate

i have applied BUT still LAG :( , even in 5 players . And some one tell me is that possible that that clients upload virus kind of some thing to my server ....
can i use this in server config
sys_ticrate 1000
fps_max 500

Maybe your server is running power safe mode, using slightly your CPU speed...

Do you even know what Dual Core means?

Anyway, you may check the resource usage in Task Manager.
I would guess this is not a isolated machine (KVM, OpenVZ, e.g.) which I've had bad experience with to host game servers on.
You should consider a hoster using Xen.

He might mean that its hyper-threaded.

He should be able to host 1 server just fine with those specs.

May i ask if you are running zombie plague 4.3 / 5.0. maybe you are getting SVC_BAD.

Linux is also better for hosting servers, more stable but also harder to use than windows.

I HAVE done that also no work .... :( . Is that possible one of my client upload bug or virus to my hlds

What makes you believe that when he haven't specified what CPU it is?


Still, KVM, OpenVZ or high usage of the resources would explain it.
And no, not if your server is pure Steam.
