If csgo's current engine shifts to source 2 engine, will it break sourcemod completely? will all the current csgo plugins stop working at all? will sourcemod still work in source 2 for new csgo? :cry:

I was going to open a similar post. I think that the sourcemod devs will have much job for do to adapt sourcemod to the new engine incoming.


I hope that the new engine not limitate more the modding in csgo.

Now, keep in mind that this is Valve we are talking about..
We would be lucky to see the update before Summer 2117.

I was thinking the same, any sort of significant change will undoubtedly pose some serious obstacles to overcome. While I'm excited for any sort of change as a player, I'm apprehensive as a server owner.

I would assume a new version of CS would be released if it moved to Source2.

Or they may do it like dota 2 where they shifted to source 2 engine : first they released a beta version (dota 2 reborn based on source 2 engine) then they made it the main version (current dota 2)

TBH Valve has been pretty good with dates lately. Other than the operations, of course, but hopefully that'll get better once Source 2 is pushed :P

Do you think they will let AM devs know months in advance so they can get sm shifted over?
