FYI : AMD 64bit supports version 2 of 32bit =)

So amd64 supports 32 bit v2 ( well atleast mine does :) ))

It can still run it, but if you took the time to read the first post you would understand why its not being supported any more.

Additionally, the most up-to-date hlds_run runs its "amd64" mode in 32 bit mode, unless you edit the line in hlds_run.

This is indeed sad. All of the new servers we've been buying are all 64-bit and I wanted to take advantage of this.

But, like others, I blame VALVe for this. I've already noticed countless bugs with the 64-bit binaries of HLDS.

Well, I guess it's life.
