Anything that is Explosive..
Server keeps crashing on maps with explosive ents, such as mg_SWAG_multigames_v2_1 (explosive balls), mg_grands_puzzle_f any map that has explosive ents will crash the server, it's weird I've reported it to the provider and we're trying to tweak it but it's hard to find the problem, we've tried disabling the addons etc, really didn't work well. Been disabling plugins, and extensions such as SteamTools and SMAC, still crashing regardless. Can someone please help me?

First of all STOP using dev versions. I have tried multiple dev. versions and they are supposed to be for testing. I had problems while using them. Use released versions of metamod and sourcemod and if it crashes, then we try to help you.

Can confirm. Env_explosions cause crashes in tf2 as well, also using windows.
I've a mod that created them to deal damage and knock players/physics objects away. Started crashing crazy frequently a while back, few months ago. Solved it by removing the env explosions and using sdkhooks_takedamage instead, with a logrithmic damage formula. I used to just re--use the old ent and send it explode inputs, but sometimes it would just kill the server. I had a mechanism to limit it so it could not reoccur, but even with 0.1 or 0.3 second between, it still crashed. I also notice that sometimes when rockets explode in mvm it will crash my server, I see them right as they touch surface. So, I'm thinking it's an engine bug, or something some extension is handling poorly (sdkhooks?) As for powerlord.. I've used at least a dozen different snapshots of the 1.5 branch, none seemed to matter. Using 3954 now, which has been the latest for some few weeks. |
