i don't know why valve decided to do this but they messed up messagemode completely and that damaged my server very very badly
anyone got a solution for this?
any chance for them to revert this?

Two options: block all steams players or move messagemode to say/say_team.

Wtf are you talking about?

Nonsteam is not supported.

On topic there is a hacky way by manipulating the string you are sending to the client to not get detected.

They fixed bugs that allow hackers to infect players pcs with malware.

And? I gave two options. He can do whatever he wants. Or don’t support steam clients anymore or use other method.

I'm aware, but at least they fixed it. I would take broken message mode any day over malware.

Laziness has absolutely nothing to do with it. There is no valid reason for them to make convenience updates to software that is not profitable.
