Description :
I more than am sure that not at all complete darkness costs on servers .And this addition will help you to replace a grenade Flare on GasNade ( carbon monoxide ). What plugin worked you it is necessary to clean tuning in zombieplague.cfg this :

zp_flare_grenades 1 // Enable flare grenades

On this :

zp_flare_grenades 0 // Disable flare grenades
If a zombiе will be in to the smoke - his HP will be taken away and all of it will be accompanied sounds .

Tuning :
zp_gasnades 1
// 0/1 Disable/Enable the whole plugin
zp_gasdmg 70
// How much damage the player takes every check cycle, 0 to disable damage (see zp_gascheck)
zp_gascheck 3
// Check period in seconds
zp_gasradius 180
// Smoke Radius (best is 170 - 230)
zp_smokegasp 1
// 0/1 Makes players gasp/cough in smoke
zp_gasobeyFF 0
// 0/1 Makes plugin act or not as cvar mp_friendlyfire
zp_gas_restore 0
// 0/1 Restore or not HP (if zp_gasdmg > 0)
zp_gaslighting - Enable/Disable lighting flash (default 1)
0 = Disabled
1 = Enabled with random colors
2 = Enabled with RGB format colors
zp_gaslighting_r : Red (default 255)
zp_gaslighting_g : Green (default 0)
zp_gaslighting_b : Blue (default 0)
zp_gaslighting_trails - Enable/Disable Smoke Grenade Trails
0 = Disabled
1 = Enable
Trails color are Green

Actually it will work both ways. 1) as flare 2) as gas nade.
You don't need to turn it off. Please before You release it make sure it's working. -_–

By such method will not work simply, will conflict only : ) imho

What I say is you should rewrite your plugin based on the latest connor's plugin.

Why ? Me this version arranges fully ...

I would be happy if who will say how to add an effect trail and bursting wave , as from Flare .
