Help with map installation
hello, i have the "end_match_nextmap_vote" running, in this 10 maps are shown. After a while the maps also change, and new ones can be seen again. But if I click on these old maps that you already know.
After looking at the maps via FTP I noticed that some maps do not even exist, while others only have some files. For a working map I need several files like an example, jpg, nav, cfg, ain, dds, txt, manifest and cache. My question: a map is shown to me which is called castle, but there is only one example file in the maps folder, otherwise nothing. is that OK? Because if I click on this map, it starts to load, but then hangs up. How do I get the map to work? where can I get new maps? I didn't find any help when searching google. greeting https://prnt.sc/1zrsxuj |
Re: Help with map installation
What you could do is post your current maps, before we look further.
Lets look maps from two different places, server and your own csgo game. I assume that you have enabled console in your own csgo game. - Start csgo game with console, at menu, type this command: maps * From server console, use same command: maps * It look somehow like this: Code:
] maps * |
Re: Help with map installation
Uiiii that will be a long posting ...
I haven't tinkered with anyone yet, everything is still original. First section the console from the game, second section the console from the server Output from the game console Code:
] maps * server console output Code:
maps * If you now look at the picture in the first posting, there are cards which are in the vote but not loaded in the vote. If I now connect via ftp, the maps are also there, only with some only "de_castle.bsp" files are available, everything else is missing. I don't understand any of that |
Re: Help with map installation
I don't know, what files you are looking from ftp, sorry.
There are two ways add maps in CS:GO, old way and workshop maps. -For upload missing map to players, old way upload file from srcds server or from sv_downloadurl address. -Workshop maps are uploaded from Steam web site. You see "de_castle" in vote because it is installed in your game, you have played that map someone else server or you have pic it up from steam workshop. So, lets stick first on workshop maps. Those maps maybe be problem to handle on later because it have "workshop/id/mapname.bsp" What you need to do is set Steam API -key in your server. - In server, create txt file into csgo folder: webapi_authkey.txt - Go wep page and sign in with your own steam profile: https://steamcommunity.com/dev/apikey Register Steam Web API key, give simple domain name what ever you like. - Copy paste key part only into your server ...csgo/webapi_authkey.txt Browse -> cs:go maps from workshop When you look one of maps, check url address. It have map ID number. for example: Code:
https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=208579464 - Reboot server. The download could take some time, minutes. Wait. You can also see console messages when workshop map is downloaded. After this, change map to else and look maps list: maps * If you can't see any workshop maps in list, reboot server. And try again look maps *. To load map: changelevel de_castle |
Re: Help with map installation
Hello Bacardi,
thank you very much for the detailed description. She is very helpful and I now understand what you said. I will take the tips into account and stick to them. Thank you very much for the explanation. Everything worked out so far, I'm curious whether the other grandpas can play the maps today. We are looking forward to it. |
Re: Help with map installation
Good to hear.
More maps you want add, just stack new map ID's in subscribed_file_ids.txt file. |
Re: Help with map installation
Hi there,
so far everything went wonderfully, the server made updates for quite a while. After a test game we voted, it also started to load, about 40% then it broke off. The console spat this out Code:
[ 0%] Checking for available updates... I tried to open the faulty server.so file, but to no avail, +++ Notepad cannot open the file. I didn't have that mistake before. But it can also be that a server update is responsible for it. I have also just seen that the key is not accepted and wonder why? The key was created in a "webapi_authkey.txt" with the domain "NEKS_Power", a "subscribed_file_ids" was also created and saved under csgo, everything as described. Do I have to enter the key somewhere else? I now have the following message on the server:  We're having some trouble connecting to your server, please wait... it seems like my hoster has some problems .... created ticket .... i will report |
Re: Help with map installation
It looks like server couldn't connect into Steam.
But why you have de_castle.bsp into maps folder ? Was that map already there ? Workshop maps go automatically into ...maps/workshop/ destination. |
Re: Help with map installation
Hello, I just found out that they are working on all servers today and that this can even fail completely in places. I got an info mail from the hoster.
Yes Brarcadi, the file has always been there, I haven't touched it and don't know how to get there. All other maps go. If I can connect to the server again, I will move the file de_castle.bsp times and then try again. All other maps, workshop maps, yes. Edit: I have limited access to the server, saw that I don't have a folder called "Workshop", that's why all the maps are probably in the "maps" folder. I will create a folder called "workshop" and copy the maps there, it will also give a better overview. |
Re: Help with map installation
Hello, after a health setback, I read a little on the internet. Here I came across a video that shows how to put maps online.
I have tried everything as described in the i9m video and it goes so far, i.e. the data is available. But I don't dare to make the last click because a warning is given there which I don't understand. Can I install maps on the server as described from minute 2.29, or is that not allowed for users like me? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8_OWul0E4dY @Barcadi I have a "workshop" folder on the hard drive but not on the server. Otherwise I did everything as you described. Unfortunately without success. |
