Loss problem?

Hello!

I'v got an problem with small loss on my server. (1-5-6)

I made 2 tests

Machines are in my company.
1. Machine
CentOS 5.5
7 GB RAM
Kernel: Linux 2.6.18-194.26.1.el5 on x86_64
SpeedTest:
http://www.speedtest.net/result/1056440829.png

Players on server: 30
Server config:
sv_maxrate 80000
sv_minrate 60000
sv_maxupdaterate 100
sv_minupdaterate 60

and I had loss like 1-6 on that server (all players in small intervals)

2 Machine
RedHad Linux Fedora 8
RAM: 8GB
Kernel: Linux 2.6.26.8-57.fc8 on x86_64
Speed same as above
Players on server: 30
Server config: same as above..

on this machine I had NO loss or choke! 0 0

None of kernels are compiled, and I will not do it.

Any suggestions? Both servers on both machines were configures 100% same!

That is where you are wrong. Notice how your servers are running on different OS's and different Kernels.

I mean same configuration (engine, server.cfg (rates and such) I doesnt have anything else to config wich needs to be different because of OS)

Re: Loss problem?

Well, the OS plays a part in Network Communication, so the Loss very well could be a result of the OS.

What do you think could I do anything on CentOS to improve that?

Your rate settings so high,

Try this

sv_maxrate 30000
sv_minrate 15000
sv_maxupdaterate 60
sv_minupdaterate 20

this settings greatly nice for 30+ slots server..
