Dear Community,

I'm running a Kreedz server in CS:GO.
This server doesn't use any kind of auto-bhop plugin which could cause a ban.
Today added me someone who got banned by SMAC

L 03/28/2014 - 22:17:10: [smac_autotrigger.smx | 0.8.5.1] **** (ID: STEAM_1:1:****** | IP: *****) was banned for using auto-trigger cheat: BunnyHop

He told me that he definitly never used any kind of script.
It's the first ban for his account so I'm not sure if its maybe a false ban.

here's my 2 cents, from what i read and experienced so far, but someone more knowledgeable can clear this up:
- smac doesn't detect scripts or macros;
- jumping with scroll never triggered smac (in fact i tried scroll which was bound to attack usign mouse software, to trigger autotrigger module, and still nothing); if he would've said he jumps with space, aka manual perfectly timed jumps and not spammed by scroll, it would've been a diff story, because in the hl2dm community we, including i, can trigger that with space cus the threshold is too low or there's a bug

There are so many false detections with SMAC. I woudn't really ban for just one bunnyhop detection.

This is a legit ban, in my opinion.
99% of the cheaters say this: I never not use any cheats.

Like i wrote it's his first ban on google

Whatever. As Ada told for you, the SMAC not detect macros or scripts. 99,9%. He was a cheater.

SMAC Autotrigger will never throw detections if a client is properly scrolling. Every 4 seconds 1 of the 20 needed detections are purged.
In order to be detected by SMAC Autotrigger a player must send 1 single command when jumping (Scrolling sends multiple) and land 25 perfect jumps in a row (25 instead of 20 due to the 4 second purge).

In other words, the chances on SMAC throwing a false detection is so low that you would need to script.

Explaining the inner workings of SMAC Autotrigger makes a complete bypass for scripts evident, so I'll try to explain this in rough detail.

SMAC expects bhoppers to scroll instead of using spacebar, which a lot of scripts (read only) make use of.
Bhopping with spacebar will increase your chances of being detected by quite a lot, but at the same time
bhopping with spacebar isn't viable without any sort of server-side enhancements e.g. stamina reset.

For a player who is scrolling detections are very unlikely.
