Anti-camp

Current Version: 0.9

Description:
Detects camping and adds a beacon effect to camping players

Planned Features:
  • Add an escalating punishment system.
CVar's:
sm_anticamp_version: The version number
sm_anticamp_enable: Set to 0 to disable anticamp
sm_anticamp_bomb_plant: Set to 0 if you want the anti-camp function enabled even after the bomb is planted
sm_anticamp_low_health_level: Set to the health level below which camping is OK
sm_anticamp_radius: The radius to check for camping");
sm_anticamp_poll_count: The amount of times a suspected camper is checked for
sm_anticamp_polls_needed: The number of times he is found within the radius to be a camper
sm_anticamp_poll_time: The polling interval
sm_anticamp_forgive: This determines if players should be beacon should go away if they stop camping
sm_anticamp_sound: The sound to play for the beacon");

Hiya,

Ace idea, few questions though:

1. Will this lag the crap out of a large server?
Why I ask is that the ES version did just that over 30 players in CS:Source

2. Can you add a customisable camp timelimit?
3. Can you add the radius that the person needs to move out of, as a variable?
4. Is it possible to slap the crap out of the person or deplete their health because they are camping
5. Will this stop n00bs from camping? (joke :-P)

Again, ace idea and much needed

I can honestly answer question 1 1: not, this should not lag your large server, and your second part of question 1, mattie himself has stated that eventscripts should not be used for much more than simple batch execution, however it grew to a point where it was used for significantly more, and in the way it was coded it is not entirely optimized for certain functionality (said certain functionality is one of the things this plugin provides)

I had an idea for an enforce temaplay plugin a loooong time ago....maybe I'll toss the idea over to dalto if he feels like taking on a larger project (it also does some "anti-camping" stuff.

SourceMod doesn't lag. At least it shouldn't with stuff like this.

As a funny story, the reason I made this plugin originally was because we had this one player on our server who was constantly camping. The original version of this plugin affected only him. We all laughed pretty hard as he was constantly bagged for camping and nobody else was. Especially since the punishment in the original wasn't beacon, it was slay.

When you start to move beacon all the same remains. Make please cvar for time editing beacon.

Right now the beacon stays until the end of the round you were caught in. Do you want the beacon to stop after they stop camping?

Yes, that would be a nice idea, as the sense of the beacon would be fulfilled once the person moves and gives up camping. Could you add a Cvar maybe to allow camping after the bomb has been planted? And maybe a text announce. But still, great work, thx.
