[help]Running HLTV, which is better running from VPS or LAN?

Hello guys I'm trying to figure out which is better for my server. I am currently running a 5v5 server with smiley's plugin BUT it doesn't have HLTV like fastcup. I'm trying to get this plugin to work. However before that I need HLTV installed. May I know if running HLTV from a VPS is better or from your own home?

I'm using smiley's war plugin which apparently has a hltv thingy but I got confused figuring that out.

Where is your server being hosted? Many game server providers also include an HLTV server since it's relatively small thing. So, if your server is already hosted, see what your host has already built in or ask them if they have the option.

it's not a game hoster provider I just used a normal VPS provider so I need to do mostly everything manually(which includes installing a hltv on linux lol)

Wouldn't it then be logical to just host the HLDS there? IIRC, HLTV comes with HLDS automatically, you just need to configure it properly and start it up. It's been quite some time since I've used an HLTV.

True but I don't have experience in hosting HLTV on vps so I'm not sure how much resources it would take that would lag the sevrver but I'll try anyway thanks! My hlds doesn't have HLTV for some reason, I hired a guy to make it though not sure what he done with it lol

If your HLDS server is running in your VPS, then you can run HLTV too.

Don't worry too much about RAM or CPU usage until you find out that is affecting the performance of the server, normally this is not a problem.

you should always try to let the hltv run on the same machine as the server.

additional to these values i also add
Code:

maxrate 100000
updaterate 101
rate 100000

by this the demos look a lot 'smoother', but will also increase their size a lot.

I tried doing this but maxrates were maximized at 20000 and updaterate at 40 lol (tried running from home)
