Server crashing a lot since months, never found a fix
 

Hello guys,

I been trying to resolve the crash that's been ocurring on my CS:GO Jailbreak server since months but even after a fresh install i couldn't fix it, so i'm posting here as my last hope.

The things that i've tried:
· Update shanapu's Jailbreak.
· Update SM-hosties
· Updated sourcemod / metamod

Ello!

How often does it occure? Map change or randy?
Did you try updating custom sm exts? Sometimes those get faulty...

Try to update all mods with latest gamedata...also delete sqlite folder contents sometimes those get corrupt (but u reinstalled sm#meta so sqlite is ruled out kind of)

Also make sure noone is tempering with server, you never know....like once i couldnt locate crashing problem so i checked chat, filtered out and found one guy chatting 'server going down' before crash lol, that one was easy to solve afterwards ;)

Hello, thanks for your reply, i apprecciate it.

I started to play with my server by removing some plugins, i had no luck untill i removed Zephyrus Store and it seems to fix the issue with my constant crash, as far as i remember i have around 3 ~ 5 crash per day randomly, but since few days (after halloween) i added a new skin, and since then it's been crashing a lot, like... 30 times per day, so i'm wondering if it's a problem with a skin.

I remember time ago, when i had my Zombie escape server (and almost all zombie models were bugged), i used to see crash logs with a text that said something like "model" so i knew that X model was causing an issue, now the crash logs only says "engine.so" so it makes me really confused because i have no clue what's the problem.

I'll keep investigating, for now i'll try to upload store plugin again to my server and check if the crash starts to happend again, then i'll try removing the latest player models to see if they were causing issues.

WTF 137 plugins... maybe reduce amount plugins...

I ran on one server 150+ plugins and no crashes + decent performance... all depends how it is coded and the hardware you are running it on etc ;)

Maybe... like some of your vtf,mdl,vmt etc files in materials and models folders are bugged?
Or store is not doing proper precache on map start for models...are u using forked store or original zephs?

Could be custom skins#models issue.It is often last thing we touched on server in most cases that reveal actual problem... check maybe upload history for ftp last 3 months or try to remove some store skins you added recently but keep store running. Or sort mods by date in plugins folder and check those that are compiled and uploaded within timeframe crashes started occuring.

EDIT:
Just saw it is original zeph store, missed it first time.
Yea i would say then bugged custom skins or plugin conflict with zeph store and something else.

Type
sm plugins unload_all

If its not happening anymore then its definitely a plugin issue.
Disable them 10 by 10 since you have a lot of plugins.
Then 1 by 1 after that.

Hello, thanks a lot for all of your replies, i've disabled Zephyrus store and the crashes stopped, to be more specific, my server survived for 6 hours without any crash, then, after i loaded Zephyrus store it crashed 10 mins later, when it was back on, it crashed again around 15, 20 mins later.

I have a theory, i been using Zephyrus store on sqlite for around 3 years+, so what i have in mind is that there's a lot of lines in my sqlite file, causing the server to crash. At first i thought that it was because the latest player models i've added (they were free for halloween) but even after they were removed (from items.cfg), the server kept crashing.

What i have in mind is try to edit the sqlite file (where all the store data is saved) and removed manually all the lines from the latest player models i've added, and also try to migrate all the sqlite file to a mysql one, I wonder if someone could help me or guide me with this, i know that the easiest way to fix this would be deleting the sqlite file and create a new one with mysqlt, but, i can't do it, since there's people that been playing since years and i just cannot fuck them up by removing all they got.

Yeah, copy the .sq3 file the store plugin uses (if there's not an obviously named unique one it's likely just using the default clientprefs-sqlite.sq3 file) from sourcemod/data/sqlite and open it with something like DB Browser for SQLite. From there, probably the easiest way to figure out what you need to do next is to reconfigure the plugin to use MySQL (changing databases.cfg and whatever plugin-specific configuration) and let it create the database and tables. Then just export all the data in each relevant table from the .sq3 file as comma-separated CSV and import them into the corresponding newly-created table in MySQL using something like phpMyAdmin or MySQL Workbench.

Not sure what kind of information the plugin is storing or how so there might be a couple other considerations to get everything moved properly but otherwise that's pretty much all you need to do.

Thanks a lot, i've managed (thanks to your help) to migrate the sqlite tables to Mysqlt, i've tested and it seems that nothing was lost and everything was migrated correctly, now i'm testing if the server keeps crashing.

As far as i know the server crash are 100% because Store, i've checked yesterday a whole day without store and i didn't got a single crash, i'm gonna try now if with Store enabled on Mysqlt if it keeps crashing, i'll update here soon.

EDIT: It crashed 10 mins later... damn, i don't know what to do at this point, it doesn't make any sense why it's my only server that crash with store, i'll try removing all player models and check if the crashes persist, then, start adding them back slowly, and check if it's caused by a broken model.
