SourceMod 1.5.3 Released

I'm pleased to announce that SourceMod 1.5.3 has been released.

As usual for our minor releases, it primarily contains updates to game compatibility (particularly CS:GO) and a number of bug fixes. See the release notes for the full changelog.

You can get SourceMod 1.5.3 from the downloads page. Some support links:
Special thanks to community members Peace-Maker and FlaminSarge as well as the rest of the SourceMod dev team.

Additionally, I would like to formally welcome Drifter and KyleS as the newest official members of the SM team. They've also been a great help with this release and with progress toward our next major one.

Did you change anything in translations?

No. Unless there is a major bug with them, we only update translations for major releases.

Re: SourceMod 1.5.3 Released

Ok. Thanks. I asked because in upgrade tutorial it's recommended overwriting translation files. The standard german translation is really bad, so I fixed it. Now I will not overwrite it with the bad standard translations. That's why I asked.

Thanks for the update. Yay for new natives.

And http://docs.sourcemod.net/api/index....d=show&id=830& under "Version Added:" says "1.5.0-manual"; shouldn't it be 1.5.3 ? Same for SQL_SetCharset.

Re: SourceMod 1.5.3 Released

When I installed snapshot 1.5.3 hg4010 (maybe it was 4008 ) a few days ago, I did got some kind of error.
Something like an file called SQL already exist within the l4d2 game folder for my server, and I had to make a action what to do. I just chosed to overwrite.

Is this still present in the final release of 1.5.3?
And is it recommended to just overwrite?

I then went down to snapshot 1.5.2 hg3946, and the so called "issue" were gone, when I installed that one.

Why not join the translator team so you can fix them for everyone?

Looks like the API ref just parses the version template in the repo, which isn't updated for minor releases.

Any idea when Synergy will have support in a non snapshot form?.
Bit annoying having the server crash from bad snapshots.

It won't be at least until those crashes in the dev snapshots are fixed, else it would be silly to release it.

Do you happen to know how to reproduce the issue? If so, please do tell. If not, consider running Accelerator on your server so that we receive the crash data, hopefully leading to a cause.

I need help with sourcemod metamod for my l4d2 server, its been awhile since I hosted one. It was only today I decided to start again. so I have the new sourcemod metamod and my plugins are not showing up on the server. is there some version of it that works for l4d2? I downloaded the server using steamcmd, have the metamod.vdf everything, but nothing works. and am clueless as to why?

That's good to know. Does the same hold true for what's it the scripting folder like the .sp files?

SourceMod doesn't have anything to do with the scoreboard - and if you're using a dev snapshot that definitely has nothing to do with the release of 1.5.3.

Re: SourceMod 1.5.3 Released

Any idea when an official version of 1.5.4 will be released? We had to install a snapshot after the update Wednesday being as our Win/Liunx servers crashed with the official 1.5.3 builds.

We are currently using sourcemod-1.5.4-hg4036-linux as I built a test Linux box for a private server to tinker with and stopped using my Windows 7 gaming machine and this version worked Thursday and I had to fix my live server with the fore mentioned version.

Best Regards,
Krillin

Re: SourceMod 1.5.3 Released

So, what's the build syntax for ambuild2?

With ambuild1, I'd do this:

Code:

mkdir build
cd build
python ..\configure.py --no-mysql
python build.py

(switching python for python3 and \ for / on Linux)
However, configure.py no longer seems to generate a build.py... just a pdblog.txt and an .ambuild2 directory. This is true on both Ubuntu Linux 12.04 64-bit and Windows 7 64-bit (in a VC++ command prompt).

The exact output for the two are these:

Windows:
Code:

C:\Projects\SourceMod\dev\sourcemod-1.5\build>python ..\configure.py --no-mysql
Checking CC compiler (vendor test msvc)... ['cl', 'test.c', '-o', 'test.exe', '-nologo', '-showIncludes']
found msvc version 1600
Checking CXX compiler (vendor test msvc)... ['cl', 'test.cpp', '-o', 'testp.exe', '-nologo', '-showIncludes']
found msvc version 1600

Linux:
Code:

tf2@powerlord:~/dev/sourcemod-1.5/build$ python3 ../configure.py --no-mysql
Checking CC compiler (vendor test gcc)... ['cc', 'test.c', '-o', 'test']
found gcc version 4.6
Checking CXX compiler (vendor test gcc)... ['c++', 'test.cpp', '-o', 'testp']
found gcc version 4.6

Speaking of snapshots a few posts back, I whipped up a quick wiki page with the minimum required version of MM:S and SM for various games.

So umm yeah, I hope this is the right place to ask, but I'm getting this error with today's update of L4D.

Code:

[01] <FAILED> file "sdktools.ext.2.l4d.dll": The specified procedure could not be found.
Game has Metamod:Source version 1.10.0 and SourceMod 1.5.3 installed. It was working fine yesterday. What should I do?

I haven't looked at the new L4D server build, but it's likely the same kinds of things they broke when they did the SteamPipe conversions for other games. Oh, and gamedata (offsets/signatures) probably moved around a bit too.

alBert2000 05-14-2014 14:42

Re: SourceMod 1.5.3 Released

I've updated one of my L4D servers (on linux) right now via steamcmd and SourceMod (stable v1.5.3) is not loading anymore.
Metamod (stable v1.10.0) is loading and only shows <failed> for SourceMod in "meta list".

Btw. changing version number to v1.0.2.9 in L4D server steam.inf (without updating the server!) seems to work until a working SourceMod is available.
I can connect and play with the updated L4D steam client.
Don't know if this will cause other problems but it seems to work so far.
So the server binaries are still v1.0.2.8 and only steam.inf is modified to show v1.0.2.9

Re: SourceMod 1.5.3 Released

oh, nice I'm going to try that tomorrow, had made a topic about it but everyone seems to have the same problem.

EDIT:

Damn I updated everything already so it's no use :). Hope they will come with a solution soon.

Apparently we are all going to have to wait for the next latest snapshot to be released to fix many things now broken by the recent update. Be watching the snapshot page

Re: SourceMod 1.5.3 Released

Ya, today's update put lots of work to waste.... The server console is throwing errors of failed forwards, and then crashes when anyone joins. Guess I'll just have to stand by and wait. Valve just loves breaking things... :L

Re: SourceMod 1.5.3 Released

Release news is not the place for update issues (and there are already threads in the proper place for both the l4d breakage and today's updates).
