First time running minecraft server
 

i started a minecraft server it's honestly just a vanilla survival server for me and my friend i have 8gb of ram and i allocated 4GB just for the server maybe that's a bit too much just for 2 players? but i want things to run smoothly anyway

so what i wanna know is, is there anything else i should change or any plugins to install to make the server run more smoothly and without any lag at all? i don't wanna install any mods that CHANGE THE GAME i want it mostly vanilla however i don't mind datapacks

i used to run a Counter Strike 1.6 server back in the day and there were scripts for it like "AMX MOD X" and i wonder if there is anything like that for minecraft servers?

i read something about fabric servers? but I'm not sure what that is

Since this is not a Minecraft forum, you'll probably have better luck finding a place that discusses/supports Minecraft. I'm quite sure there is plenty of info online if you search.
