so i was wondering how does quoting post here works? does it automatically updates the quote if the original message was edited?

No - the quoted text is part of your post. When you do a "reply with quote" to a post it'll automatically populate the reply box with a quote of all non-quoted text in the post.

Not really. You can insert quotes at any time you want as long as you can edit your post.
