When VALVe breaks MANI Admin
 
Hey I'm really pleased that SourceMod will take over the mantle from MANI's admin plugin.
I love the MANI system but it's getting long in the tooth now and I can see huge benefits to a new system - sounds to me like SourceMOD will be the perfect solution.

My question is this:
As it appears that the next update is quite likely to break a lot of the current MANI functionality how quickly can we expect a working SourceMOD admin system to be ready?

Even if it were pretty basic with some missing features it'd be great if it was ready to fill the gap when MANI's breaks.

(I hope this question isn't seen as impatience but merely forward thinking on my part ;))

What is the update expected to break? And how much of that is stuff GameTypes.txt couldn't repair?

SourceMod is a working admin system, it just doesn't have any default plugins implemented. It's not far down the todo list but it's at least roughly a month away. The todo list has graphical menu and SQL API as higher priority.

I suppose I'm just being pessimistic. It's just that often in the past VALVe has released an update which broke some MANI functionality and MANI was able to rush out a fixed DLL to repair or work around the issue. This quick fix from MANI seems unlikely to happen again.

Hopefully things won't be too bad. :)

Valve hasn't been releasing many updates to CSS lately. Too busy on Ep2/TF2 I guess.

What about messages like TE_BEAM and renderingmodes?

There is a TempEnts extension here - http://forums.alliedmods.net/showthread.php?t=54096

and render modes are in offsets, you'll be able to manage and handle them in SourceMod without a problem.

hmm thanks,
I've seen that tempents extension, but it seemed to crash when I called a message.
Anyway, where can I find the arguments of rendermode and the other render offsets?

ps. sorry for being offtopic here, but my topic is rather empty.

What does SourceMod has to offer in comparison with Amxx?

What do you mean call a message?

Tempents doesn't have a message native...
