Can't download HLDS linux on windows using steamcmd
 

so i want to download a linux HLDS cs 1.6 server on windows using steamcmd
and i set up everything and the server downloads fine at the start but when it reaches 93.25 %
i get the error "Error! App '90' state is 0x602 after update job."

i tried like 10 times with different directories and even tried running the command multiple times it always gives the same error...

anyone having this problem found a fix? idk what to do anymore...

@sSteamCmdForcePlatformType Linux

Before app update.

that's exactly what i have been doing
my commands are

- login anonymous
- force_install_dir hlds
- @sSteamCmdForcePlatformType Linux
- app_update 90 validate

i tried login in with my steam user it made 0 difference i still get the error...

i did everything i could think of that might be causing the error but so far no luck, im starting to think the problem is in steamcmd and not me unless someone else can try and give me feedback if it works or not idk

Mine just worked with anonymous login, validated 2 times and it was done. Server is on Linux.

Why are you trying to download a linux server onto a windows PC?
If you are planning to run the server in a virtual mashine, just use the virtual mashine direct to download the server.
Most likely this is causing the problem.

I think it downloaded files, but it fail making symlink.

Files locate in ...steamapps\downloading\

But what @Mordekay said, use it in Linux, virtual machine.

because i want to upload the server on my host, the server i bough is quite an old version... i did ask the hosting provider if they can do this for me but they said no so yeah...

ugh i really don't want to go through all this hassle just to download a server damn, can i do it on the linux built in bash on windows?

If you have a host that will allow you to host a game server then you also have SSH or some other type of console access. Run SteamCMD through that.

i wish i had SSH access but i don't... i only have a game panel and FTP access like what most common game hosts give you

How do you rent a game server that has no game server on it? Sounds like you need to rent from a host that actually hosts game servers.
