Do The Twist v0.4

Description: Ever feel that a simple game of TF2 is getting dull? Well now you can liven your server up with this simple plugin, which causes all dynamic props in the map to do 'The Twist', affected areas of your maps may include:

  • Trains
  • Doors
  • Respawn Lockers
  • Lights
  • Control Points
  • Final Payload Areas
  • Nucleus' Death Device

Cvars:

twist_enable 1 - Enable use of the plugin
dtt_message_enable 1 - Enable the 'Do the Twist' message(s).
twist_version 0.4 - Version of the plugin

Commands:

twist - Activate 'The Twist'.
notwist - Resets all props in the map. (This is automatic when a map ends)

VERSION HISTORY:

0.4
  • Public Release
  • Allowed for props to be reset
TO DO:

  • Add the ability to force players to do The Twist.

I think that's everything, as always, let me know if there are any bad coding practices in the plugin, or if there's anything I've missed, or if there are any feature requests. I'd like eventually to have an array of 'dance moves' for the props to perform in unison.

The plugin was tested on 1.2.4 and 1.3 versions of Sourcemod, both on Windows and Linux servers, as far as I know, it all works fine!

Made the doors really buggy when turned off
-Everyone could see outside the map instead of the spawn room when approaching the spawn point doors.
-Doors do no re-align after it is off.

Other than that a weird, yet fun plugin :)

That's awesome and is going on all of my servers IMMEDIATELY.

Any way to make individual props do the twist? Now that would be epic.

I can't seem to get this to work at all. I'm thinking it might not play nice with some of the other mods I have installed.

When I type "twist", the "Get Ready to do the Twist!" text pops up, but nothing else happens.

List of mods I have installed:
Say Sounds
RTD
RTV
Prop Bonus Round (I think this might be the culprit?)

Any ideas?

well... it does work with props BUT it doesn't work with the ones on the map, it just turns everyones model into a prop at the end of the round so i doubt that. Im not a mod developer so i can't tell you but i can tell you from common sense. :P

What version of SourceMod are you using? It might be that I need to provide a recompiled version of this.

Updated the first post so that the source compiles for SM 1.3 automatically.

I'll consider the music playing thing, but it would require users to have some kind of page that would play a song ready for use, I don't plan on attaching said files with the plugin.

It's still a no go for me. >_< I just can't figure out why this won't work for me. No actual errors that I can see... the "Get ready to do the twist" text shows, but nothing happens.

I think my server hates me :( lol

Same here , all props aligned as normal when the map starts , everything worked as it should while twist was on but once it was turned off doors and supply cabinets ( only ones I really checked out at the moment ) didnt re-align correctly.

Supply cabinets seem to always stop 90 degrees from normal position and the doors seem to end up slightly twisted.

Still works great though and hope that this minor thing can get fixed up :D

Just noticed after testing I had quite a few of these lines on the console screen incase this helps .. if not do you know what they are ?

This plugin breaks maps because the props dont always return to their original positions.

Hello, sorry for the thread necromancy.

I am not well in compiling, so could someone be so kind and compile this changed version for me? Also, it works with mp3s too, right? I already have a suitable twist.mp3. I imagine that is better for the clients, so they don't have to download a huge wav. Or is it somehow streamed?

I can confirm that this plugin itself works but the prop reset part of the "notwist" command does not.
