Mysql module linking & compiling

Hi,

Out of curiosity, what version of MySQL is used to link with MySQL module?
Compiling myself it fos give me a whopping 3.4mb instead of 1.6 mb, so really... let's just say I don't want to fulfill the bin of crappy stuff.

I want to do some code changes to the sql module yet I really hit a wall on the big compile size (and no... debug is not enabled by the way).

Do you guys use some version in particular?

Thanks

Out of curiosity Arkshine, is there a reason why you are using a version dating of 2006 for Windows?
Are there performance reasons, featureset reasons, etc etc?

Absolutely no idea.

EDIT: I've asked Bail, and it seems there is no real reason (lazy?) ; so I guess we could upgrade to 5.5+.

Oh okay, thanks for the info.
Wouldn't be a bad idea indeed to upgrade. It's not unrealistic to assume there might be some performance improvements in the newer releases, considering how huge their code base is.
