My sb_admins.cfg keeps being overwritten to the default? I updated to the latest version, didn't override that but now it's being reset upon each map change even when i keep uploading my backup.

Hello mates,

I would like to check if an admin kicked someone from sourcebans webpage. I've tried admin logging plugin but it doesn't save kicks from sourcebans webpage.

Is there a way to check if an admin kicked someone from sourcebans webpage?

Where's that?

The log system is on I think, at least there is a .txt file on sourcemod/logs that save all commands, maps changing, etc. But don't save kick commands from sourcebans webpage.

Try providing some information - sbpp version, sm version, and I'm willing to bet you have some error logs.

There are no sban errors in the server console.
SourceBans ++ 1.6.3
sourcemod version 1.9 - build 6248
I'm not the only one who reports this error.
I changed the sban ++ plugin on the server with the previous version 1.6.2 and I do not have this error anymore, but the server can not access the player report menu because it was not implemented in the previous version.
This means the error is from the sban ++ 1.6.3 plugin

I have a custom banning plugin that was written for Sourcebans, but now no longer works with Sourcebans++. The plugin is not here on AlliedModders.

I would ask the author of that plugin to edit it himself, but he has since gone off steam for a couple years now. I however have the source (.sp) file for the plugin so I could edit it myself, if I knew what to do.

I am presuming that I need to remove the part of the code that tells it to use Sourcebans and replace it with Sourcebans++. So my question is, how would I do that? Would someone be able to explain to be like I'm 5 how to do this please?

For those who get the error « error: the xml response that was returned from the server is invalid...» on admin pages, i fixed it by editing hostname in cfg/server.cfg and remove special character and/or not more than 40 characters.

Server ID according to the web admin is "1", but bans are working and getting posted to the database when according to sourcebans.cfg server ID is "-1". I don't remember setting it to -1 and haven't changed anything since the original setup 1/3/2017.

Would change this to 1 (instead of -1) cause more problems, or just cause the sourcecomms errors to stop?

You probably accidentally replaced that config file when upgrading at some point, change it back to 1 and you're good to go.

Pardon me if this was asked before, but how does one make it so when a player rejoined the server while banned he receives a kick notification to check console which lists out the reason, timing etc

I may be in the wrong spot but this is the only forum I can find that may help.

I am using sourcebans 1.6.3 and no matter what I do I always get "Error connecting (wgb.ddns.net:27015)". Everything is correct, ports not blocked via testing. HLSW has no problem as with any other program, only sourcebans has a problem. Although it does not show the hostname I can still connect, go figure. I extracted the code for the PHP @fsockopen and it tested fine for the port. ONLY SOURCBANS HAS THIS ISSUE. Is there an update to the code or a bug fix.

This all started when I upgraded from 1.6.2 to 1.6.3.

If this is the wrong spot for this issue, please direct me to the correct forum.

Please don't respond with "your ISP is blocking the port". My ports are not blocked. I confirmed that.

PHP 7.0 compatibility was given in almost all versions of SourceBans++.

Version 1.6.0 was the first version to mainly focus on PHP 7.0 and higher during the development process
and Version 1.6.3 made SourceBans++ fully compatible for PHP 7.2 and higher.

Have you installed PHP's GMP extension?

Does anyone know how to allow admins to use comms commands using @all @t @ct (etc) tags?
For example, they cannot use !mute @all 30, !unmute @all neither.
When they use !unmute @all (ungag too) a message is printed on the chat saying that they were unmute, but is not working and you must delete the mute using the Comms Menu using the admin menu

You wouldn't want to do that via sourcebans as all those people will have logs of being muted when some didn't do anything wrong.

So I am still running the older sourcebans (1.4.11 I believe) and still have to use the old Steam ID "fix" of running the old admin-flatfile.smx since I have the old Steam IDs in my sourcebans.....if I wanted to update to this latest version, how do I go about updating the website and the plugin to be sure I can run things properly? Do I need to update all my admin SteamIDs to the new SteamID format manually and then upgrade? Is there a step by step doc for doing an upgrade from the old to this new? Thank you in advance.

If it works sometimes, make sure that your webserver ip is not getting blacklisted by the gameserver for all the A2S Querys (used to display server infos).

1. Update the admin-flatfile.smx (never heard of an issue that would force somebody to use an old admin-flatfile, at least not with SourceBans++)


2. I'm guessing you mean the Steam2 id format (STEAM_X:Y:Z) with "old" steamids.

SourceBans++ still uses that format for entries in the database and a php library for conversion between Steam2, Steam3 and Steam64.

Also the updater is solely designed for updating database structures and data to be compatible with the current SourceBans++ release, so no need to worry about incompatibility (in most cases).

Just make sure to backup your database before updating, just in case something goes wrong.

Sometimes it's better not to discuss things, when you are not 100% sure about things.

The socket extension has nothing do with these plugins, and won't be used in regards to SourceBans at all.

Unless you have a real need for the Socket extension (e.g. it was already installed and required), you can safely remove it again.

The errors you see are because the SourceMod thing cannot connect to the specified SQL server using the information you gave in databases.cfg.

- Make sure your SQL server runs
- Make sure that all your SQL information, e.g. username, password, and especially the IP address is correct.

Hello
I have the problem with the UDP ports.
So on Sourcebans page all Server showing "Error connecting (ip:port)"
I contact the webspace support and they say that they dont open the ports.
is there any other way to fix this problem? Maybe anything that i install on my rootserver that send the needed information to the webspace?!

My Gentelmen freak.exe_uLow, it was my mistake. I deleted all from databases.cfg that's why i got those errors. But now all plugins work just fine !

**PLEASE BEFORE YOU SEND IT, REMOVE THE PASSWORD AND SEND AFTER THAT THE DATABASE.CFG**

How to fix banreason "??????" in sbchecker

I found fix for old sourcebans 1.4...

change to
$data['reason']  = iconv("UTF-8", "CP1251", stripslashes($res->fields['ban_reason']));
but it make ??? banreason on site
