messagemode not working after update
 

After recent Counter-Strike 1.6 Update ( 2019-03-21 ) messagemode command stopped working. With this not working anymore many plugins that relied on this won't work. At the moment it is unknown if this stays or will be fixed.

Quite the overstatement. Relatively few plugins require this functionality only one of which is part of AMX Mod X default plugins.

Advanced bans uses messagemode for ban reason, I have not tested, but it is probably broken.

Not quite problematic. Just create a temporary array to store the written string in the chat, then check if the player that is writing is in messagemode, after that make use of copy() to get the temporary string into a global one.

I'm using say for most of my commands, but messagemode really help in some (Ban menu cases). Anyway what is the problem of using in say? a 'Y' or 'U' key press more? :P

Also what issue is fixed with this change on messagemode?

2 issues that allowed people to infect players computers with malware. https://thehackernews.com/2019/03/co...e-servers.html. It was something really serious so I don't mind them breaking messagemode in the process.

Ye its really annoying.. Hoping they will make it back
Maybe good alternative is:

+toggleconsole to client
Print in his console:
Write `amx_setreason ''your reason'' here in console

And ofc register clcmd/concmd amx_setreason then parse (and bool probably)

Some plugins weren't working today, Like screen fade.
