This plugin allows you to automatic ban players who create new account or simple just join with another account when they are banned.
The plugin will search for the ip in sourcebans and if found you can chose between some different options trought the cVars.

Cvars
  • sm_sleuth_actions <option> - 1 = Original Length (same time as the ban in sourcebans) , 2 = Custom Length (controlled by cVar sm_sleuth_duration) , 3 = Double Length (Will ban him twice the time that he's previous ban) , 4 = Just notify admins trought chat (Default: 3)
  • sm_sleuth_duration <option> - Sets the time to ban player if cVar sm_sleuth_actions 2 is set
  • sm_sleuth_prefix <option> - Will set the prefix for the sourcebans tables (Default: sb)
  • sm_sleuth_bansallowed <option> - How many active bans are allowed before we take action against the client. Example you set this option to 2 it will ban when he has 3 bans!
  • sm_sleuth_bantype <option> 0 - Ban all type of lengths, 1 - ban only permanent bans

Changelog

Version 1.2.0
- Whitelist function is now working (addons/sourcemod/configs) drop it there.
- Admin command sm_sleuth_reloadlist will reload the whitelist
- The cVar sm_sleuth_bansallowed specify how many bans they are allowed to have before we interact. Example is that you set cVar to 2 then they need 3 bans before we will ban them since the first 2 is allowed!
- The cVar sm_sleuth_bantype will specifiy if we check for only permanent bans or all sorts of bans. 0 = all bans, 1 = only permanent ones
- Note: Please delete old plugin and replace all its content and restart server to be sure all cvars is loaded correctly and so on. Also delete the cfg/sourcemod/sm_sourcesleuth.cfg and let the plugin recreate it!

Version 1.1.0
- Added a whitelist
- Added new cvar: sm_sleuth_bansallowed - This will define how many bans a player could have before we interact
- Added new cvar: sm_sleuth_bantype - This will define if we only interact on permanent bans or all type of bans.

looks useful - but wasn't sourcebans supposed to be able to IP ban if an IP# is applied to the ban? If not then it needs to be implemented into Sourcebans. Someone verify that for me that it does or doesn't.

We use this plugin and it just banned a kid that we lifted a permanent ban from. He was showing as Unbanned in Sourcebans yet it banned him for linked ip.

I take it this pays no mind at all to whether or not the person is unbanned and just does as it pleases?

Something like that shouldn't be happening, but try this.

sourceban ip banning never worked, if you banned from ingame. It would just let players reconnect with a new steamid and same ip

SourceBans has... issues to say the least.

I'm surprised no one has rewritten it. It'd be even better if they rewrote it to use the OnBanClient/OnBanIdentity hooks that were explicitly added based on the SourceBans developers' request.

So should I not use this or the one minimoney posted if sourcebans has an outstanding issue with ip bans? I would really like to use it but only if it works and doesn't do what it's doing right now. And to note I even unbanned and deleted teh ban from sourcebans but it STILl picked up and banned him when the plugin was active. Not cool man.
