I believe filtering in TraceLine and then doing it how I suggested above requires far less calls of is_user_alive on the whole.

If you want to avoid native calls, Ham_Spawn/Killed/Disconnect to cache the value of is_user_alive() would be not a bad idea. Anyway you're probably right.

It compiles localy but for some reason the webcompiler fails.. You can use this webcompiler instead.

It's like a simple glow, but it shows to a player only when it aims at another target ( player ).

You won't understand anything from screenshots, you must see video or just test it on your server :)
