7 days to die server on linux

Has anybody here made a 7 days to die server on linux without all the weird shit of linux gsm or these sites where you just download sh files and run them in the right order? I just want to download it from SteamCMD and then launch the server, but I can't figure out how to launch the server because every guide I look at is assuming I'm using some weird third party mod to launch it.

Linux can be a little tricky to navigate at times, especially when trying to set up game servers. Have you tried launching the server directly from SteamCMD? That's usually the easiest route to take. As for your issue with the third-party mod, I've had similar problems in the past. It can be frustrating when guides assume you're using something that you're not. Have you tried reaching out to the community for help? There are some great forums out there where you can get advice from fellow gamers who have been in your shoes. Regarding 7 days to die servers , I've found some great ones to play on by doing a little research online.

It would be better to use LGSM for ease of updating, backup, install, and validating. If you wish to use a panel, Pterodactyl also offers 7 days to die as an option.

For steps, it should be the standard -

...
$ steamcmd +force_install_dir ../sdtd +login anonymous +app_update 294420 validate +quit
$ startserver.sh -configfile=serverconfig.xml
