Hello. I dont know if this belongs in "Scripting" or "Plugins" section.
counterstrike 1.6 amx mod x

My friend built a map and My question is. How do i prevent other people from using it on their own server or making edits to it. Replacing my logo and stuff.

Does the map builder have to do this. Or is it separate code attached to the mod/ftp/server?

Some type of encryption or block, to prevent others from using the map or making edits.

There is absolutely no way to protect your map from such. AMXX has nothing to do with map structures.

Hmm. So the player just has to download the map from my server and can then use the map on their own server OR they can put it in a map editor and do with as they please?

Or where do i go for map structures lol

They can decompile it. Check BSP2MAP for example. It does not guarantee the best results, especially if your map mostly contains complex geometry. Nevertheless, they can do whatever they want with it.

When you upload your map to the server, every client gets the exact same file on their computer when they download it before connecting to your server.

Basically, there is nothing you can do, at all.

one thing you can do is create a map with a floor which does damage to players and make another floor on top via plugin, which you can use to walk on as you would normally.

And another coder can do the same to get the map working.

At least you prevent normal players to use it or even play it on singleplayer. They will be like: huh?

It can be done without a need of using any plugins/modifications.
Anyone can do it, as long as the map isn't protected already.
once a map is protected there is no way to edit it, in fact, there is no way to use it without your permissions.
