Copyright Headers

Hi,

I noticed that the copyright headers are missing from SMAC's code that uses KAC's code.

I respectfully request you re-add the copyright headers and denote changes as required by GPL v3.

Code:

/*
    Kigen's Anti-Cheat ConVars Module
    Copyright (C) 2007-2011 CodingDirect LLC

    This program is free software: you can redistribute it and/or modify
    it under the terms of the GNU General Public License as published by

*/

Thanks.

Please resolve this before Nov. 25, 2013.

Thanks.

Added GPL and copyright information. They will also be bundled with release packages in the future. Cheers.

Re: Copyright Headers

It seems CodingDirect LLC became an entity on 02/08/2010. How does it have a copyright header from preceding years?
Code:

Copyright (C) 2007-2011 CodingDirect LLC
Should the copyright header be adjusted to something like this?
Code:

Copyright (C) 2007-2011 Max Krivanek

Re: Copyright Headers

No, CodingDirect LLC owns the KAC code. As CodingDirect is a limited liability company. There are obvious reasons I want such things under that company. :) Basically, copyright ownership was transferred to CodingDirect.

Thanks, but you do need to still add the copyright header to each file. Because they are considered separate works.

I'm pretty sure what we have there now should suffice, and I'll consider this resolved.

Unfortunately, it is not in compliance with the GPLv3. You are required to add the copyright header to every non-trivial file. Even Allied Modders does this (example).

Hm, you are right...
FULL ACK

Re: Copyright Headers

Technically the requirement comes from the fact that I put the copyright notices there to begin with. You are forbidden by the GPL from removing the copyright notices (practically all licenses do this).

There is a lot of irony in the situation for those familiar with what was happening back then. It appears that the copyright notices were removed in 2011 based on the bitbucket commits (this commit).
