Lower variance

How can I get low variance?
I am getting var around ~0.0020

How servers are getting ~0.0003

I tried installing this kernel
https://github.com/MikkelDK/GameServerKernel

But it Didn't lowered my variance , may be I am missing something ?

Please help
Thank you.

Re: Lower variance

Depends on your CPU.

The kernel can't give you low variance =)

So you need to install this:
Code:

apt-get install tuned -y && tuned-adm profile latency-performance

I tried it but still same var

Let me guess, you are using GoogleCloud/AWS or DO? - Since you didn't post what CPU you're using.

You need a better CPU before it will work. :)

You need between 3Ghz to 5Ghz.

Yes I use aws and it do have 3.6Ghz and I can confirm server running in aws get low var I have checked some of those servers.

Well, I can confirm, it will not help you. Because of limited GHz. (If you don't get low sv/var = my kernel/rates will not help with it)

So you need to try build-your-own-kernel. :)

I don't find there is issue with kernel but I guess I missing something else which is also need to be done as I tried before long and it worked for me I got low var perfectly.

Hmm. maybe something is missing.

I can't say what it is. Since I don't use AWS/DO/Google-Cloud.

Use a dedicated server with a decent cpu and you will have a much better performance and all options for optimization.

Re: Lower variance

you can’t get LOW VAR on shared/cloud hosted vps , buy a dedicated machine if you want low var and better performance
