[L4D2] Certain players cannot connect

Hi so whenever certain players join, this error message in console appears saying
Code:

S3: Client connected with invalid ticket <number>
followed by
Code:

RejectConnection: <ip> - STEAM validation rejected
I am able to connect just fine. I've checked the steam_appid.txt and I see 550 along with "null."

Is there something that I am missing?

Re: [L4D2] Certain players cannot connect

Can you first tell us, from where, you start your server?

Is it Source Dedicated Server, downloaded through SteamCMD.exe?
Or is server from Steam.exe ?

Dedicated server SteamAppID maybe should be 560.
550 is player game.

*Ok, mine AppID turned to 550 while I started my srcds.exe. Maybe it is right.

Re: [L4D2] Certain players cannot connect

I'm using Nodecraft as my host. They had a one-click-install of the server files (yeah noob I know) and There appears to be no sign of any .exe file besides lef4dead2.exe. Other than that, there is srcds_linux and srcds_run. Neither of them have extensions, just 'File'

I've seen threads about downloading the server from SteamCMD so that you can add -launch -options to the srcds.exe. I am starting to think about switching providers though that could be the reason.

Ok.
Is server Linux or Windows ?
Can you find full path to your srcds program ?

Can you see, how you launch your server ?
Like launch parameters ?

ex:
-game left4dead2 -console and so on

*edit
You could show, while running L4D2 server, information with server command
status

I'm using Linux. Unfortunately I do not see a srcds program anywhere.

I believe I have found launch parameters in the host's webpanel. There were none but it is a straight command argument line similar to where you would put -game left4dead2 -console etc.

Here's my status
Code:

hostname: <myservername>
version : 2.1.5.5 7311 secure (unknown)
udp/ip : 0.0.0.0:27015 [ public <myip> ]
os : Linux Dedicated
map : c2m1_highway
players : 0 humans, 0 bots (24 max) (hibernating) (unreserved)
# userid name uniqueid connected ping loss state rate adr
#end

Re: [L4D2] Certain players cannot connect

Do you have now any mods installed on server ?
plugin_print
meta version
meta list
sm version
sm exts list
sm plugins list

If you have mods, you could try temporary disable MM:S and SM from server, just to check problem is not there.

Find metamod.vdf file from ...left4dead2/addons/ folder, move that file out from ...addons/ folder. Reboot server.

Now you should not see mods loaded on server
plugin_print
meta version
sm version

-Then try get person to connect to server.

When you have tested and want mods back on server, move metamod.vdf file back in ...addons/ folder, reboot server.

You maybe need re-install your server (SteamCMD) with proper AppID
Left 4 Dead 2 Dedicated Server 222860

*edit
Or problem is totally else, I can't tell.
