How do you pause a timer for client?
 

Let's say that a timer for the client start when he disconnect from the server, how can i pause it at the state it is currently if the player come back and resume it when he leaves again?

No way to pause a timer and this operation will make the server become instable if you run the server long enough. Too much handle will be created.

Use a database to store/retrieve this kind of information
