AlliedModders - General help and how to add effects?

I am new to TF2 items and the only thing I can get done with it is adding a shining particle effect to my texas ten gallon from this copy and paste I found on a thread:

I'd like to know how to add other particle effects to my weapons and hats and maybe some general info that would be helpful. Thanks in advance toanyone who replies! :)
