Large Hadron Collider
So has anyone else been watching the news on it over the past few months up to and including today?

Re: Large Hadron Collider
Haha I was meaning, beyond the fact that people were afraid of it killing, but just the sheer science with what is going on.

Re: Large Hadron Collider
Why are they bothering trying to see how the universe was created?

Re: Large Hadron Collider
I for one and very excited to even be alive to witness such an event unfolding. The tests today went very well (a lot better than expected in fact). Watched it live over the CERN web cast this morning. Can't wait till October when the real shit happens.
Also, as for everyone who is afraid of the earth imploding please do your research. There was more of a chance during the Manhattan Project that the nuclear reactions wouldn't stop (as some scientists on the project speculated about) than there is of stranglets or anything else being created that would destroy the world. tl;dr I'm a nerd and thus am very excited about the whole thing. People who are afraid of the Earth exploding should fuck off and die. Well, now I'm going to disappear again for another 5 months. Cya. |

Re: Large Hadron Collider
I am not only interested in what the machine does, but the fact that the machine worked on their first try amazes me. An aritical I read discussing the Chicago particle accelerator talked about how a neutron went off path and went out a side of the machine causing some damage.
