buying a vps
buying a VPS
hey guys, so I decided to buy a VPS based on Linux centos 7 and I'm not sure how much cs: go servers I will be able to run all of my server going to be 128 tickrate. so that is the VPS: 2 Cores 4GB DDR4 ECC 250GB SSD so how much server's I can run with the VPS? I know there is no exact answer I'd love you to estimate the amount Tnx! |
Re: buying a vps
You didn't say how fast the cores are

if that's the case I got 20 Mbps for my VPS |
Re: buying a vps
No, it is about the used CPU for your vps, like Intel or AMD and the frequency they are running.

Re: buying a vps
The system itself needs some resources as well, just to be able to operate:
- You have a very low CPU frequency - A VPS is not a pizza, but simply a "pizza slice". You're sharing the pizza with others. - With a bad provider (e.g. "overselling"; none of the providers in the business are obviously going confirm that they do so, to protect and help generating their profits), other people's activities on the "full pizza" will affect your things. I suggest only running 1 x 128 (10 slots) tick server there, if you want things to run somehow stable. If you really want to run more than one single server, I suggest dedicated servers, as you're the only one with access to the "pizza", meaning that only your own things can affect your stuff. I'd say you've been filled both with luck as well as a miracle, if you're able to run 2 x 128 tick (10 slots) servers "stable" on a shared pizza. Cheap $1/month things isn't going to get you anywhere in this business, especially not with 128 tick. |

First of all thank you for the detailed response, so as I understood from you that vps is really low and I can to run only 1 server 10 slots 128 tickrate that will be stable if i ill try to run another 10 slots 128 tickrate servers the VPS won't be stable? maybe I should try to take a bigger or stronger vps? or should search for dedicated servers and if ill go for dedicated servers which server should I take for running at least 20 server's 128 tickrate so I search for a dedicated server and I found out that: DELL Xeon 4X Xeon 2.27Ghz 16GB DDR-2 ECC 1T x 2 SAS-2 7.2K 50/50 Mb --------------------------------- DELL Xeon 6X Xeon 2.27Ghz 24GB DDR-2 ECC 1T x 2 SAS-2 10K 50/50 Mb does the first server will be good enough? |
Re: buying a vps
srry its a bug please delete that command

but if the servers are full players will probably get lag basically 1 core per srcds so if you want to run 20 servers you should get a 20 cores dedicated server |

so with that new dedicated server i will able to run at least 4 128 tickrate server's? DELL Xeon 4X Xeon 2.27Ghz 16GB DDR-2 ECC 1T x 2 SAS-2 7.2K 50/50 Mb and I was a client at a game server company, which he claimed had the dedicated server: E5-2650 V3 128 GB RAM DDR 4 4TB SSD is that good for 20 servers of 128 tickrate? and you can suggest me a good dedicated server? for running at least 20 128 tickrate server's only CS:GO |
