I mean wouldnt it be impossible to see whats on the other side of the teleport dimension?

Well, yeah. But the functionality isn't impossible.
You could also make like a camera when you walk up to the portal to see on the other side.

Tbh.. That idea never came across my mind. But yes what Exolent said. It's not all impossible. Just requires a bit (well maybe not a bit) of time and effort.

I've been working on something like this last year, it's almost done but it's got some issues.

One issue is that server crashes when a weapon goes into the portal, I can fix that by not allowing weapons to be teleported through, but that'll suck :/

Another one is that if you shoot through a portal it always shoots streight out, I dunno how to calculate direction and position of the actual hit and trajectory :-??

And this is verry FPS dependant, for example, you can't go full portal loop (one on ceiling and one down) if you have like 30 fps, you'll get jammed once in a while.

And apart from that, I don't really have a portal gun model.

I've played it with a friend of mine, we'd just portal ourselves here and there =) but it doesn't got an actual gameplay so it gets booring quite fast.

I'm waiting for Portal 2 to release and maybe I'll get some gameplay ideeas and release this.

I think this portal gun can be implemented in your CTF plugin. for the CTF, it would be awesome if you can make it like TFC gameplay. with classes, abilities and different models for each class. this portal gun can become engineer's teleport.

Last 3 or 4 months, i've tried to edit ghw ctf plugin so that its gameplay is like TFC. Things that im stuck with are bazooka, demoman's weapon, all engineer's abilities and all spy's abilities. I stopped doing that because thats outside my capabilities and very time consuming. Now seeing that your ctf plugin still inside new plugins submission and this portal gun like, it gives me hope again :). I hope you can accept this suggestion and rewrite your ctf plugin. It is time consuming but still worth it :)
