Steam Community Profile Viewer

1 Attachment(s)
Not very original, I know. This has probably been done already anyways but people kept saying they wanted it and couldn't find it so I'm releasing this version.

Type "!profile <Steam ID, UserID, Username>" to convert the ID to a steam community link and open the MOTD to goto it.

We you it to identify people once and a while on our server.

Changelog:
Quote:

1.0
  • Initial Release
1.1
  • Now supports Player names and user ids
  • If ran from server, echos back the link instead of opening motd to it.
1.11
  • Random little optimizations.

Thanks a ton. This is very useful for identifying those who think they're clever at concealing who they are by setting themselves to offline on Friends or using a different in-game name than their usual. This plugin is another +1 for administrators.

A+

Would be easier if it supported passing a name or userid too.

Re: Steam Community Profile Viewer

The converting is broken for new accounts! the friendids are now like
7656119 80 01962577 (STEAM_0:1:20848424) instead of
7656119 79 78130006 (STEAM_0:0:8932139)!

you see the 79 has switched to 80, so the old method of adding 765611979 is broken and needs a update! any math experts here?
the length of the steamid has nothing to do with that, cause there are steamids with 8 digits out there with the "79"er friendid.

opened a new account for that problem http://forums.alliedmods.net/showthread.php?p=703432

STEAM_0:1:1 is older than STEAM_0:0:11111111111111
its not the length. Im not sure when the change from 79 to 80 happens. Maybe its when the 0 (between the :) changed to a 1? If so thats easy enough to fix.. think this is more a of steam question than something pertaining to source mod

Why cant you just go into friends and click view current game or past game?

Because typing /profile <nickname> is quicker ;)

This is very useful! I think I'll try it on our servers! Thanks for making this.
