bandwidth?
 

anyone have any bandwidth issues with their tf2 servers..as in using 8 mbit to run em?....2 32 man servers...8 mbit?...my colo provider is having a moose :(....only allotted 1mbit

have turned down maxrate as low as 10000....
i have one running beetles and i running sm...both seem to run about the same..dunno..any help would be great

You probably can't run 64 slots on 1mbit.

This leads me to think, they are only talking about how they bill you, not your actual limit.

For customer we have that need bandwidth, it's sold on the 95 percentile.
But you can not limit some one on a 95 percentile since that is a monthly stat.

You will probably just be charge extra over 1mb.
But unless your server is full 24/7, I would not recommend using a host that charges you that way.

I agree, in the past when I rented dedicated boxes I always looked for flat monthly bandwidth. Generally 1500-2000gb a month is what is offered. Occassionally you can find deals like double the bandwidth.
