[HL2:DM] ZombieFix
What Does It Do?
Stops spawning zombies on Windows HL2:DM servers crashing the server. What Doesn't It Do? Anything else. How Do I Get It? Click here. How Do I Install It? Drop the folders in the archive in the addons/sourcemod folder. What Do I Post In This Thread? Any problems you are having, etc. What Don't I Post In This Thread? Asking for a Linux port (the bug doesn't exist) or for any other fixes (you can PM me though). Who Do I Thank For This?
Where Is The Source Code? Here. |
Re: [HL2:DM] ZombieFix

Re: [HL2:DM] ZombieFix
asherkin you are my hero! This is by far the most important plugin on my new coop server. Not only does it give me access to twice as many maps as I would have otherwise, now mappers have no reason to leave zombies out of their 'Ravenholm' map.
You've changed the game. Thanks : ) |
Re: [HL2:DM] ZombieFix
HL2 DM is still alive? :D :D :P
|
Re: [HL2:DM] ZombieFix
Would there be any way to get this to work with the SourceForts mod? The plugin fails to load when I try it with my SF server.
|
Re: [HL2:DM] ZombieFix
It's not the same crash in SourceForts, SourceForts is already patched to fix this crash.
If I get a chance I can try and find out what the issue is, but it may not be for a while. |
Hello
Wow, All of these extensions are wonderful. I downloaded this and put it in the scripts folder, I still get error signs for zombies. I have 5 with the .5 patch. :)

Re: Hello
This post got lost in the database crash, so reposting it.

Just in case, this is meant to go in addons/sourcemod, so that zombiefix.ext.1.ep1.dll ends up in addons/sourcemod/extensions. Also, this isn't meant to fix any errors or other crashes, just one specific crash related to the idle sounds. |
Re: [HL2:DM] ZombieFix
And you can do the same thing but under Windows 2000?
In windose 2000 does not function "EncodePointer". |
Re: [HL2:DM] ZombieFix
Update today will have stopped this working.
It is unknown as of this time if it is still required. If time permits, update will be made 48 hours from this post if it is still needed. /Damage control post |
Re: [HL2:DM] ZombieFix
Yeah, we will be needing it.
edit (on reflection): Thanks for the update Valve. |
Re: [HL2:DM] ZombieFix

BUTTTT they didnt had the FastZombie....Do you think you'll be able to fix that???? I found the CPP file but dont know what to do with it... And by the way I found a way to spawn the zombies were I want and by troups, with points and Fade_corpse On..... Just like in Phoneburnia.... |
Re: [HL2:DM] ZombieFix
Awesome speed asherkin, Thanks.
|
Re: [HL2:DM] ZombieFix
thanks asherkin, speedy fix!
|
Re: [HL2:DM] ZombieFix
so...this just removes all zombies on maps... i was hoping when i saw the title that it would actually fix the zombie problem and make it so you can play with zombies...
|
Re: [HL2:DM] ZombieFix
No, you have that backwards.
This prevents spawning zombies causing Windows servers to crash allowing you to use them for the first time ever. This is the extension you want. |
Re: [HL2:DM] ZombieFix
Hey asherkin, are you still considering fixing the vortigaunts aiming issuse?.
Right now that seems to be the biggest threat to Half-Life 2: Deathmatch's cooperative gaming field. Well at least for Windows, Linux servers still have a ton of issuse. Hehe |
Re: [HL2:DM] ZombieFix
We were asked not to post feature requests, however, just in case someone is working on a fix:
http://www.mayhemgamingonline.com/in...id=12&id=11288 Tesla-x4 has found the function parameter and exact bit which needs to change. When I tried this hack it highlighted the next problem with the Vorts: When you orb them they dissolve without ragdolling so they can still kill you. They can also get you through meshes which they couldn't before. Its funny how the main complaint people have is about not being killed easily enough, bet that would change quick. lol. Hopefully someone is working on these issues (Valve?) Otherwise, give me an open ended amount of time I'll learn cpp, signature scanning, Metamod scripting and I'll see what I can do. |
Re: [HL2:DM] ZombieFix
Updated for today's engine update.
|
Re: [HL2:DM] ZombieFix
Is there a problem with the old version? Its running for me just fine.

Re: [HL2:DM] ZombieFix
This does not appear to work anymore after the 4/19/2012 update. It shows the extension as loaded, it just doesn't do anything anymore..
I tried with sourcemod 1.4.1 and 1.4.2 not that it really matters I don't think. |
Re: [HL2:DM] ZombieFix
Like WildTurkey said, doesn't work after the TF2 update of 4/19.
Please update this, it's vital to any decent coop server. |
Re: [HL2:DM] ZombieFix
Plugin dead, pls fix!
|
Re: [HL2:DM] ZombieFix

|
Re: [HL2:DM] ZombieFix

Re: [HL2:DM] ZombieFix
Hi, May I first thank you for creating this plugin it has worked great for the last 8 months on my Linux Server. But I have the same problem as cmulder, since the update from Steam we can no longer play any maps that have zombies and we have a lot of maps done by our mappers that have zombies.
Here is the error log we get L 11/06/2012 - 00:41:57: SourceMod error session started L 11/06/2012 - 00:41:57: Info (map "dm_lockdown") (file "errors_20121106.log") L 11/06/2012 - 00:41:57: [SM] Unable to load extension "zombiefix.ext": /home/lrcpanel/userfiles/LRC120212659/orangebox/hl2mp/addons/sourcemod/extensions/zombiefix.ext.so: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory L 11/06/2012 - 06:22:51: Error log file session closed. If you can help that would be great. Thanks |
