STEAMTOOLS for CS:S

Hello:)

I need steamtools.ext.so (version 0.8.3) without RequestGameplayStats, because this spamming in my log files.
Where can I find it?
Builds in repo are with RequestGameplayStats :(
Greetz,
Falu

Yes, but you think about new STEAMTOOLS version, and I think about STEAMTOOLS 0.8.3 (https://forums.alliedmods.net/showthread.php?t=129763)

Re: STEAMTOOLS for CS:S

SteamTools has never supported anything other than TF2 (CS:S used to share the same engine as TF2, and thus support was "free").

Re: STEAMTOOLS for CS:S

No chance of ever getting SteamTools to work with CSS, ever? It used to work, and CSS has just forked off from that point... has certain functionality been stripped or something?

Use the SteamWorks extension.

In which Windows Builds aren't supported. I'm using a Windows Server.

Re: STEAMTOOLS for CS:S

So make your own windows build.

Re: STEAMTOOLS for CS:S

Can't. No instructions on how to build it, and I had attempted, only to get clusterfucked with errors in Visual Studio C++ 2010.

Re: STEAMTOOLS for CS:S

I got mine working by making a copy of Steamtools.ext.2.ep2v.dll called Steamtools.ext.2.css.dll. Does what I need, seems stable too.

asherkin 02-21-2015 17:49

Re: STEAMTOOLS for CS:S

The ep2v named binary would load on CS:S anyway, but it's still not going to be working properly and you won't get support for the fact it isn't working properly.

StrikerMan780 02-21-2015 17:59

Re: STEAMTOOLS for CS:S

What exactly won't work properly?

asherkin 02-21-2015 18:17

Re: STEAMTOOLS for CS:S

Anything that relies on hooking the right interfaces, so update notifications and any license/dlc natives.

StrikerMan780 02-21-2015 18:25

Re: STEAMTOOLS for CS:S

I can do without those. Might as well just support CSS while disabling/ignoring those natives. Most of the SteamTools stuff I need is working for me now, once I did that renaming. (Such as checking Steam Groups.)

Re: STEAMTOOLS for CS:S

You're probably better off using SteamWorks, which supports a larger amount of games.

Until there's comprehensible build instructions for SteamWorks on Windows, I'm sticking with this.

It's the same as building anything using AMBuild.

Hello.

There are Windows, Linux, and even Mac build of SteamWorks.

SteamTools only supports TF2, SteamWorks supports mostly all games.

Yeah, but they never compiled correctly even after I set up the includes.
