Edit

I tried changing some more of the file and directories to chmod 777, and now get this erro in my browser

Theme Error: default is not a valid theme. Must have a valid theme.conf.php file.

For some reason my chmod permissions did not stick... Its all sorted now.

Glad it's figured already :)

As for the permissions not staying, it would seem like the FTP Server Software or the Operating System on the Machine was too busy to take care of it by then, or it was a FileSystem problem.

as soon as I ban someone my game crashes (not the server) and everybody loses connection to the server.
The database is set to localhost and I didn't change any other settings.

From the SourceBans FAQ:

Quote:

Why is the webpanel showing me a blank white page?
This is because PHP has encountered a fatal error and cannot show any more of the page.

To show the error message that PHP produced, you need to add the debug parameter to your URL. For example, if your current URL is http://www.sourcebans.net/index.php then you can add the debug parameter by changing the URL to http://www.sourcebans.net/index.php?debug=1

If your URL already has parameters, then add debug on the end, like this: http://www.sourcebans.net/index.php?p=home&debug=1

In most cases, the error message will be self explanatory, but if you need help, then post on our forums.

The mysql server is running on the same machine as the gameserver? If that's not the case, type your mysql-servers' ip address in the "host" space in your databases.cfg. any errors in your sourcebans.log?

Can SourceBans insert in both files banned_ip.cfg and banned_user.cfg imported bans or they just only live in database?

Re: SourceBans 1.4.6 (Updated 12/23/09)

Just wondering if there is someway to limit the ban duration by the ingame plugin?

We dont want the admins doing longer bans than 1day.

Re: SourceBans 1.4.6 (Updated 12/23/09)

I've installed SourceBans both on the server and web interface

My servers are not connecting and there are no error logs. The database is all set up and the correct info is set on the server.

I have other databases setup and they connect correctly.

From what I read - Downgrading fixed this? Let me know, Thanks

Re: SourceBans 1.4.6 (Updated 12/23/09)

hello,
i have a problem with installation.
I am stuck with step 4 (Table Creation)
This is what i get:
Code:

You have an error in your SQL syntax; check the manual that corresponds to your MySQL server version for the right syntax to use near '0', `srv_group` varchar(128) default NULL, `srv_flags` varchar(64) default' at line 4
After some googling, i figured out it is because of setting
Code:

default ''
(empty string) in tables sb_admins and sb_bans in struc.sql.

Mysql version 5.0.88, php 5.2.9
Any help appreciated, thanks.

I got couple questions that I could not find in help, sorry im new to SB.

Do I need to have writeip writeid in server.cfg now?
What happens with bans made via hlsw?
Do bans still got stored in banned_user on server?

Regards

Re: SourceBans 1.4.6 (Updated 12/23/09)

1) You don't need to, but it doesn't hurt either.
2) They are only stored in SourceBans if you use sm_ban. banid/banip will only ban them on that server.
3) No.

Re: SourceBans 1.4.6 (Updated 12/23/09)

Curious situation and looking for suggestions on handling:

Using latest version of 1.4.6. Updated few days ago w/o a hitch, thus far.

1. I've got an admin that is no longer an admin. No server or web permissions whatsoever.

2. Account is kept b/c the person had previously imported bans.

3. This account is now to be BANNED from our game server as well.

How do I keep the imported BANS of said account and make it also BANNED?

Thanks

Re: SourceBans 1.4.6 (Updated 12/23/09)

You're able to ban a player who is registred as admin as long his immunity level is lower than yours. Just change his password to prevent him from logging in or something, but there is no admin archive.

Should be. Good feature request :)

Re: SourceBans 1.4.6 (Updated 12/23/09)

I managed to get sourcebans working and everything seems fine, except that I can no longer ban using admin menu. The ban option appears but when you press a duration it just does nothing at all. sm_ban works as do all other features of sourcebans. Just wondering if there is something missing that perhaps I haven't done. It happens across all servers.

L4D2 server is running MetaMod:Source v1.8.0V, SourceMod v1.3.0-dev

L4D/TF2 servers are running MetaMod:Source v1.7.1, SourceMod v1.2.4

jaboy, read the errors in your sourcebans.log and the FAQ;)

@Hfuhruhurr: Any errors in the logs?

No, there is no estimated release date for SB2.0.

Re: SourceBans 1.4.6 (Updated 12/23/09)

There are no errors in any of my logs. I have tried reinstalling sourcemod, downgraded the TF2 server from 1.3-dev to 1.2.4 and meta from 1.8.0 to 1.7.1 and it's the same. It's strange that all 3 gametypes have the same issue on 2 different physical servers.

The only commonality I can see is they are all windows servers (besides myself who may have missed something obvious).

On every map change i have to type in "sm_rehash" into server console in order for my admin to work.
I have tried putting it into the autoexec.cfg, yet it still requires that i manually type sm_rehash into the server console before i can actually use my admin....

help?

How about putting the command to "/cfg/sourcemod/sourcemod.cfg" ?

Type "sm plugins list" and post up the output.

I've had this happen to me before. Putting the command in autoexec.cfg, server.cfg, nor sourcemod.cfg worked. I later found out it was caused by a plugin maliciously uploaded to my server. Make sure there's nothing fishy in your plugins list.

That might work but if not for the rest of future use, he could use cron to execute that command each specific time or write an ES which executes it at specific time.

Well he should try it in his server.cfg first. We've had issues with admins not loading every map change. we use that command in the server.cfg and it works just fine.

As far as I can tell, no. I haven't updated my servers yet, so I did a quick update to one of them and sourcebans can connect just fine. Is the server actually running? It's possible it didn't start up properly.

Sourcebans will not connect to my tf2 server for no apparent reason
double checked hosts, ports, configs, etc, nothing is wrong

And a side note:
L 01/28/2010 - 20:31:11: [SM] (Line 40): Unrecognized admin level "custom7"
what?

Edit: Apparently one of the rcon hack prevention plugins was banning the webserver ip for rcon hacking attempts -_-;

so i placed sm_reloadadmins into my server.cfg (not sure why that would work) autoexec.cfg and sourcemod.cfg ..... it appears to be working now

Hi, it was impossible to properly ban player then he is submitted without nor IP nor STEAM ID and when there is no demo to verify if ban is legit. So I made small modifications to page.submit.php
Also it's allowed to upload .7z demos and non unachieved are blocked to prevent disk space usage overkill.

Maybe someone finds it useful.
