Hmm I went from the 1.1 branch of SourceMod back to the latest 1.0 branch and the crash seems to have stopped.

Possibly it, i havnt upgraded to 1.1 yet, so thats probably why i dont experience any of the crashes people are reporting

Re: GoreMod v2.2 by Pinkfairie

I am running the 1.0 release and still experienced the crash on my CSSDM server. However I have not tried it with out the E flag. I will do that when I get home tonight and report.

Re: GoreMod v2.3 by Pinkfairie

Cheers!
2.3 is out with a fix for the crash!

The problem was trying to remove 'stale' ragdoll's on death causing a crash I have fixed this a few different ways if you still experience crashing, let me know asap!

Box Cutter 04-17-2008 22:32

Re: GoreMod v2.3 by Pinkfairie

So does v2.3 mean it is safe to use E flag now?

monkie 04-17-2008 23:19

Re: GoreMod v2.3 by Pinkfairie

Well, version 2.3 runs more smoothly on normal CS: S mod, yet still crashes on my "Deathmatch 2.1.0.466 + Gungame 1.0.0 Beta5" server.

The problem should be related to the CSS: DM plugin.
Good news is, server doesn't crash anymore, bad is client always crashes out to the desktop...

(my plugin: Sourcemod 1.1.0 build 2079 now)

Yeah when I run it now without goreflag e, the client crashes.

Server's fine I think...

I have the same problem with clients crashing out on two of my servers. One is a regular pub server and the other one is ZombieMod.

With Engine Error

Re: GoreMod v2.3 by Pinkfairie

Yeah apparently there were two types of crashing going on before, serverside and clientside. Serverside crashing was happening because of trying to remove stale ragdoll bodys on goredeath. Clientside crashing is happening because of the bloodstreams. Crashing on deathmatch servers is happening because both CSSDM and Goremod try to remove dead bodys. I've added support for CSSDM and im testing right now with 30 bots in fy_iceworld on the clientcrash. I'm about 95% sure its fixed right now, im gonna test it live on my hl2dm server soon and upload it later today if all goes well.

Re: GoreMod v2.5 by Pinkfairie

Hi PinkFairie,

I notice you have a "g" flag now for removing ragdolls, you'll need to update your console cvar:

RegAdminCmd("sm_goreflags", Command_Flags, ADMFLAG_KICK, "Sets Goremod Flags (a/b/c/d/e/f) Example: abf");

Also a nice addition would be a "BleedHealth" and "BleedDamageHealth" variable to determine when effects start

I have added a cvar and changed the two lines I'll let you know if it works. Was a very simple 2 new static variables and changing the two lines you have for the Prethink.

Good idea, is the plugin crashing for you rothgar?

Rothgar 04-19-2008 23:20

Re: GoreMod v2.5 by Pinkfairie

Hard to say, I see a bunch of people disconnect at some point, not sure if it was a client crash or what.

I will be keeping my eye out for them.

A problem we have on our server is sometimes after being on the map for a while I guess because it gets too many gibs/blood decals etc the Physics start going crazy and they do not fix themselves until the server restarts. Any idea of how we can fix this?

Any way we can have your v1.4 back while we wait for v2 to be fixed since the original was stable?

Re: GoreMod v2.5 by Pinkfairie

2.5 seems to be working fine on our server. We had the same issue with the Physics on the old one it just gets to be too many I think maybe they need to have a timer clean them up after a period of time.

Jay make sure you aren't using goremode "g" if you are running CSS:DM because I think it already removes ragdolls

I would also suggest updating to the latest snapshot release of the 1.0 branch, my version is:

04:40:59 SourceMod Version Information:
SourceMod Version: 1.0.1.2077
JIT Version: JIT (x86), 1.0.1.2038
JIT Settings: Generic i686

Re: GoreMod v2.5 by Pinkfairie

Yes on my server run Deathmatch
Deathmatch already removed themselves Ragdools
Yes I use flag "g"

Do you think it's better without a flag at Deathmatch

My Sourcemod version is the stable version of releases
1.0.0 1946

If I use a snapshot, I have no category Server Commands in my admin menu
I do not understand the Dynamic Admin Menu

Then don't use flag "g", flag "g" in GoreMod is removing ragdolls which could potentially crash because it might get removed at the same time by deathmatch, which is why it was seperated as per his post.

If you update you can use all your plugins, the 1.0 trunk branch is just updates/bugfixes for the stable release. Backup your entire folder and then merge the changed files into the updated ones it the easiest way.

If you are missing a plugin just copy it over and recompile.

Re: GoreMod v2.5 by Pinkfairie

I've noticed that people time out a few seconds after they die on my server, too. Overflow on blood and stuff wouldn't be it because they get removed. Maybe they have an older end computer that cant handle it? I'm not sure but this is extremely frustrating. I put up v1.4 for anyone who wanted that.
