Re: SourceBans 2.0 Alpha (2013/09/04)

Feature Request:

With the current SB 1.4 an admin is granted permissions and powers, these powers are either on or off for each server. To make it simple lets say I have 4 servers labeled 1, 2, 3, 4. It would be great to allow Admin #1 to have admins powers and specified permissions on servers 1 and 2, but only moderator powers and specified permissions on server 3, and only donator powers and specified permissions on server 4.

There is no way to achieve this now with SB 1.4. I can mask a player so they appear to be a Mod or Donator, but they still have the admin powers and permissions.

This is already possible in 2.0. Just assign different server groups with different permissions to those admins and servers.

Very nice. Thank you.

I have another feature request, please read-on:

For my servers if we ban someone for 30 days or more, we also issue an IP ban.

IP Ban Feature Request:
When issuing a manual ban (web-interface) or when banning someone in-server using the ban command-plugin. Have the option to ban someone by Steam ID32 and by IP Address in one entry. Currently if we want to ban for both SID32 and by IP we need to make two separate entries. Would be nice if the interface allows to make one ban and it does both bans automatically. Furthermore, if we do an in-server ban, maybe have a cfg file that we can enable or disable, and set so if we ban for XX hours/days or more, it will also issue an IP ban autmoatically. This way server owners can choose to enable it, or set it to their liking.

How close is Version 2 looking to be available as an upgrade to v1.x?

I'll expect it will be ready soon enough, Checking the github they been working on the web panel recently. Depends on what you expect or use from sourcebans the main functionality of the program works fine. Add/Remove/modify Bans, add admins/servers.

It all properly syncs up its more the web panel settings to change the logo for example that need updating but you can edit it with html anyway if your desperate to change it. At the moment theres no native support for sourcecomms but I think the developer of it has made an alpha version but I haven't tested it so I can't confirm or deny if it works.
