Running multiple hlds

ok... i have been running and playing with windows hlds for a year now. i need help with this issue im having. When i start my first (hlds) everything works. Then When i go to start my zombie server or bot server the i think the configs and stuff dont work. the name is blank and its insecure. Can anyone help? also i use and try windows xp sp4 and vista home basic. also i get this line and i cant find anything on it.

Have you tried updating? "the i think the configs and stuff dont work"?

Id assume your just using a diff port, but make sure its updated, if not then re-down hlds using the updatetool and overwrite your current one with it.

yea everything updated. different ports and stuff. i think its something to do with the outbound ip

I can't find anything about a "Windows XP SP4".

I can run dedicated servers off my laptop, I have the latest sp, id imagine its 4. I even run redirects (20 servers) off of 1 hlds on my laptop from also. So it does work, i just have no idea about that error. Have you tried to make another server, see if it works? Like HLserver2 or 3 or whatever and use the updatetool and see how it goes.

ok i made a shortcut can some one give me the like config or path they have in the properties the the czero game to see if its my game.

also, when im in console mod how i get it on server lists. it doesnt show up there wen im in console but in cvi mod it does.

As long as it shows up in server-monitor and whatnot, its all good. Check your internal ip in the steam window.

I dont know what you mean cfg for the shortcut unless your using serverdoc

i mean czero config you use. ex c:/hlserver/hlds.exe -(configs here)

Um, server.cfg is usually the only thing, and that is ran naturally. The only thing you really wanna change in the command line is rates (tic) and whatnot, unless its for serverdoc, then you want the ip, port, server.cfg, max players, map start and whatnot. If you dont use a 3rd party program to run it, you dont need to worry about any of that.

yea.. i trying to run it console mod so it doesnt take up as much cpu and ram

Then use serverdoc, and you can get or find example command lines.
