Description

TF2 SK provides an entire gamemode similar to that of Instagib but in DM-style with an insane feature set. You have to see it to believe it.

This is the first of several epic plugins I created exclusively for GamingMasters.co.uk which are no longer very popular, so I'm releasing them here. :)

This is also my first plugin release here, so no flaming please. :P


Gameplay


Each player is equipped with an Instagib sniper which kills in one or two shots (configurable) and the sniper's kukri which kills in one hit but only hits players directly in the center of the screen to make up for it.
Players then slaughter each other Scoutzknivez-style in an extremely high quality Scoutzknivez replica map with countless improvements over the original to bring it fully up to date.
Once a player has run out of the lives they are given at the start of each round (configurable), they die and must wait until there is only one player left standing.
All players are then teleported to the winners' podium room with epic particle effects (see screenshot (http://imgkk.com/cool/view/ftw/86ocjnd7.jpg)).



Installation


Install the GiveNamedItem files if you don't already have them for some other plugin.
Install DukeHacks (http://forums.alliedmods.net/showthread.php?t=69658) if you don't already have it.
Install the TF2 SK plugin itself.
Download the sk_scoutzknivez_v4 (http://rapidshare.com/files/209179809/sk_scoutzknivez_v4.rar) map and install it (and optionally you can install the map pack (http://rapidshare.com/files/209179820/sk_map_pack.rar) too).
Ensure the settings are the way you want them.
Play :D



CVars


tf2sk_version (0.1.5) - TF2 SK plugin version.
tf2sk_spawn (5) - Spawn protection time, in seconds.
tf2sk_fall (0.0) - Fall damage multiplier (float).
tf2sk_mult (1) - Change whether the beam will pass through targets on a hit, allowing multikills.
tf2sk_accel (40) - sv_airaccelerate value.
tf2sk_noscope (0) - Prevent use of the sniper scope by temporarily blinding players who use it.
tf2sk_health (1) - Change whether players will die in two hits from the sniper rather than one.
tf2sk_maxlives (3) - The number of lives each player gets per round. (Warning: based on months of testing, 4+ was boring.)
tf2sk_meleedistance (125) - The distance to register melee attacks within.
tf2sk_bots (2) - The number of bots to put in the server when it has < 3 human players. (You will regret setting this to 0... :P)



Admin Commands


sk_epicwin - Gives yourself a minigun, sk_madness-style.
sk_madness - Equips everyone with laser miniguns :D (see screenshot (http://imgkk.com/cool/view/ftw/pji5f4rc.jpg))
sk_restart - Forces a round restart (handy to turn off sk_madness).

Warning: This plugin will only work on the maps available for download above.
I also highly recommended that you only play it on sk_scoutzknivez_v4 - the other maps are pretty bad :P

Also please note that this plugin is currently only compatible with SRCDS.

Just change the forum compiler to use 1.2

It uses DukeHacks so it won't compile on the forums.

this appears to be broken... can anyone verify that it is still funcional? i would like to set one of these up, but have had no luck... is it my setup, or is this plugin broken by recent scout update?

Yes, it still works.

I just started up a server running a pretty recent build of Sourcemod and the latest Dukehacks and it works fine.


EDIT (08/05/2010): Highly unlikely this will ever work again, sadly. Officially shelved.

EDIT (17/04/2013): Has been fixed for my own server (gamingmasters.org:27062) through significant rewriting, may release again in the future.

EDIT (02/09/2013): Fixed again for my server, may release but massive tidying required (it's full of nasty hacks, race conditions and unused code)

I'm necroposting in the hopes that SK might be revived for TF2. I used to run it on a CS:GO server but I honestly like maintaining TF2 servers way better. Anyone interested in resurrecting this badass old school game mode?

I started working on recreating this plugin from scratch.
Don't expect anything fancy soon.
However, I would appreciate any feedback/tips/suggestions on the gameplay ideas I had.
