Server wont show up

Can someone help me. When i start my server and everythings fine and i add my server to my favs and click add server it shows up. but when i refresh my server page my server disappears. if i dont refresh and check out the my server info nothing shows up in the window. it is just blank with 0's
please help

I have got this problem alot, and asuming your using a HLDS as you posted in the HLDS section, I believe its a problem with the HLDS.

what is the ip of your server? is it a hosted server? if its a home run server the ip should start with 127.0.0.* or 192.168.*.*

if it doesnt your trying to connect on the wrong end, local servers require local clients....

if the server is hosted, then a complaint shall be ordered!

fyi, 127.0.0.* will get you nowhere (literally:)). It is a loopback IP (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Localhost) leading to your computer.

If your server is on your LAN check the LAN tab to see if it's there. If you have it hosted do as HLM says and send in a ticket.

Since it is a LAN IP we cannot get to the server :|.

Are you trying to set it up for LAN only or are you trying to make it accessible from the internet?

next step is going to www.whatismyip.com and getting your ip from there, throwing L27015 on the end and saying "1.2.3.4:27015 is my server"

but before we do that, did you forward your port on your router?

i think i ported it becuase i went to the port forwarding website thingy an ported counter strike or something which game or something was i supposed to port

You are supposed to forward port 27015 (I do UDP and TCP but I'm not sure you need both) to your computer. Also, sometimes your ip might change on your local network so you would have to re-forward.

I'm not sure if you need any other ports cause I have 27000 through 28000 forwarded to my server.

I have no clue what you mean. You need to forward 27020-27039 (TCP) and 1200,27000-27015 (UDP) to your game server computer.

You don't need to know the game as long as you know the ports. Just forward those ports to your computer

That website was only to find the ports that you need to forward (through your router). It seems that they have software to purchase to do it for you but there is no neeed to spend $30 on it.

You need to log into your router. Likely http://192.168.0.1/ (or whatever your router's IP is; I think it will be listed as your "default gateway" in the output of ipconfig).

Log in.

I have a linksys so when I go in I click on "Applications and Gaming" and I put my ports in there and select UDP or TCP and what IP you want them forwarded to.

ok thanks i fixed it finally!
but i got another problem how come my heroes wont show up in the server. none of them will ive put in 100 heroes and none of them wont show up
