Haha nice one.

I can imaging a load of servers adding this and then setting it to override just for admins to play with ;)

DiscoBBQ
04-12-2008, 15:33
It's an admin command set with the kick flag

Extreme_One
04-12-2008, 15:36
Can I suggest that you make the flag customisable and even allow admins to give all clients the ability to do it?

What about the ability to blink another player.

sm_blink : teleports you to where you are aiming
sm_blink PlayerName : teleports PlayerName to where you are aiming

Just an idea

I like that idea alot, ill impliment it when i get back from work tonight ;]

Where did you get the idea from? WoW? :p

Also if you want it to be add it to players to do blink you should do a limited of how far they can teleport. Like in wow it's about 30 yards.

Anychance you could grab the portals from Portal and use them for entries and exits? Without the view 'thru' the portals just the animations would be slick.

you can't use the entitys but you could remake it with those models. But don't think you will be able to see true it or something like that like in portal. Or fall true it or what ever :p

I'm running TF2 on a linux server with the latest sourcemod snapshot.

This plugin makes the player fly up in the air rofl

V0gelz
04-12-2008, 17:14
Well i guess detecting the angle of the player is different to TF2. That's prob the reason why it doesn't work proberly.

SixSicSix

It was fun nonetheless :) It teleported me outside the map boundaries :D

DiscoBBQ
04-12-2008, 21:19
For the portal request, im going to do that eventually. Wall walking and portalmod is next on my list, stay tuned.

Tf2.. Idk. Ill test it but I have some to work to do on this plugin. Gonna make a stock for tracing walls and ceilings and stuff which will allow easier creation of the wall walk and portal mods

My guess is Natural Selection. It works exactly as the old Blink skill did for Fades.

Actually neither :grrr:!

Its based on the amxmodx blink plugin which was a port from an amx plugin. I didn't put it as a 'port' though because the code completely different.

SixSicSix

Are you going to implement TF2 support while the plugin is young? :)

DiscoBBQ

How about it triggering from chat either !blink <clinet> or /blink and !blink or /blink :D saves spending a whole 5 seconds to open console, I'ld also like it if it could be non admin just for the !blink command.

P.s Also love the hidden words in the first being "heroin" and in the second "sex" and "drugs" XD

Fine! working on it now.

i know you said you are working on it for TF2 (bump ;P), also wanted to add, could you make it so we can set the flag needed (from sm) to be something other than kick, ie: ban or even better cheats (flags d or n)

reason: every member (in easy) has some sort of access to the SM menu, as in, they can all kick, many can ban, but only a select few have the cheats flag

I'm a bit confused how this is different from the "sm_tele @me" or "sm_tele <user>" command in http://forums.alliedmods.net/showthread.php?t=75520 ? anyone enlighten me?

1. You don't have to install all the other funcommandsX functions or recompile the plugin if you don't want those commands/don't want your lower admins to have access to those commands.

2. The funcommands plugin teleport is still a bit buggy, especially when teleporting yourself. Teleporting yourself using the funcommandsX version almost always ends up with you embedded in a wall, floor or outside of the map...

Fair enough - just the fcX one actually has a separte admin teleport tools one (no longer maintained but functional).
Although I do agree about the buggyness when not aiming at the floor.

I have to admit, the one thing this has over the other teleport plugins, is that is actually uses the "point and click" method. Though it is buggy, it still works with other mods other than TF2. Now if it were more reliable, I would use it on my CS:S server.

DiscoBBQ

It is buggy I used some calculus calculations to find the teleport points, When I made it I either didn't know about getting traceray hit origins or it wasn't implemented, this is next on my list with the donation plugin to be fixed up when my computer is back up and running.

Ripped from funcommandsX. Blink, which working in TF2. No args supported, just self-teleport.
p.s. Use "blink" command instead of "sm_blink"

Same version but without visual effects. Must work in any mod.

Cool, Was about to do that myself :P

What would be really awesome is adding a range var to it - holding down the key makes you blink farther.

Last time I checked SourceMod was open source, so he doesn't have to ask. He should, however, credit where he got the code from.

Don't play WoW, but some way to for a player to control the range. Blinking to the nearest wall isnt always the most ~ideal~ scenario.

I saw something where the range shows up in the "hint" area, kind of like the Jetpack mod's fuel gauge. Longer the key press = longer the bar, longer the bar = farther the blink.

the sm_blink <client> is not working.

I'm using this for L4D2 server.
