I know of no way to hide the rcon password. My understanding is that it goes out unencrpypted over the network and anyone with the knowledge can intercept that traffic and find your rcon password easily.

If someone does know of a way to hide it I'd be very interested. Someone suggested locating it in a different file than default but it seems to me the password would still go out over the network no matter where it is located initially.
